My hope is for the pack to be released before the end of the summer. I don't even care if there's going to be any new stuff at this point. I just want to get to play a stable pack before I have to get back to uni. =\

But just to keep on-topic, I will say more thaumcraft toys and more MPS modules. I love playing with those.

I expect we'll get a single item that's somewhat useful and we won't really care that it's not enough content since we're playing with mods in 1.6.

I don't get why people feel like updating to the newest Minecraft version is essential. It's like shutting down everything because a single mod wants you to because it got new content. You could just ignore the mod and continue expanding your mod in its current version, but nooo...

Maybe (Not hinting at anything here that could even be remotely possible) mojang makes interesting and open-ended things more often than mods do, and it's worth shutting down all the mods and yelling at them to update their code. But who could believe such an unholy thing?

Well they're changing the way texture packs are done claiming it's to advance the progress on the mod API, as well as adding horses, donkeys, and I believe carpeting. This opens up a few possibilities, but can mean mods might take a bit longer to update.

I can't speak for everyone, but personally, my favourite part of modded minecraft is playing with new things, and experiencing things I haven't experienced before. Once I explore all the mods I start to get bored as I don't feel building contraptions using mechanics I've already explored is worth the effort. That's when I start craving new features. I understand however, that modders and the minecraft developers can't possibly keep up with the speed at which I explore the content they've spent so much time developing, which is why I usually avoid complaining. But we've been waiting for this update for a while already, and it doesn't look like we'll be getting a complete and stable pack anytime soon either, so I'm getting impatient.

Maybe I'm just bored of minecraft in general, and new features is the only thing that keeps me interested at this point, but oh well.

I hope modpacks actually update at a reasonable schedule and I don't keep getting bug reports that I fixed months ago...

Oh the curse of ModPacks and peoples lack of understanding that they are not built with the most recent version of a Mod.

Its nice canned mod packs becuase it get more people into modded MC that otherwise would not get into it in the frist place.

But yeah not everyone understands that the premade packs can be someone outdated from the main build of the mod.

I feel bad for the devs that have to deal with that. And the bug reports from modpack users that don't relize the bug they are submitting has anything to do with your mod and its actually a diffrent mod that is the issue.

This.

I would like mojang to implement cubic chunks, seperate blocks and items into there own IDs, and rewrite the render code to actually use the advanced features of opengl 4.3 so it's not so freaking laggy when we pile mods together.

I like the ID's for blocks and items part, but cubic chunks are buggy as hell. Last time I used that mod shit just didn't work, and we would be waiting a while for Forge got chunk loaders working correctly with that setup.

Not the cubic chunk mod. Making a dynamic change like that needs to be done by mojang, not a mod. To much is involved in changing the base source as well as how things need to be saved for someone to do it properly as a mod.

I hope we don't wait for a mod whose author keeps teasing with "I'll update reel soon guise".

Honestly I don't care about vanilla. At all. But there's sure to be a ton of new features for all our beloved mods like TE, MFR, and TiCo. I shouldn't get my hopes too high, but it would be awesome of Sengir gave us back the old farms we loved so much..

Don't hold your breath.

I don't really have any hopes for 1.6 as I've only recently started playing 1.5. Mostly I just hope that mods and texture packs get a chance to update to 1.6 before Mojang releases 1.7.

Some kind of tech-horse. I don't care where it comes from. I want one nonetheless.

Also, more bosses. And maybe more dimensions on the modpack.

I have a few hopes for unmodded Minecraft, not too many for modded.
1. Lamb, drops from sheep and fills 3 1/2 hunger or so
2. Squids dropping food
3. The fish code working

Well, as far vanilla goes:

Mods? Man, where do I start.

First off, enter the stage of true multiblocks, less GUI, more building. Less trying to figure out how a modder is thinking and more sense of achievement. I've been harping about this for some time now and the first sparrows are starting to appear, I'd say "let's hope for more", but I bet more people will start to jump on the bandwagon pretty darn soon.

I'm hoping that the best network will finally be chosen soon, and that more mods will build on top of that instead of everyone doing his own thing. We're not far off since even universal electricity will probably convert to the BC model. The pressure for more to follow will probably be pretty darn strong after.

IC, I feel the time comes where it'll either wake up or drop off. Not because it's you know... dying, that belief is kinda silly. But because people believe it is, it's only a matter of time before people start to consider dropping it.
