Hmm. Well, it seems i suck at math. Clearly I had the wrong idea of how much EU 12000 really is. Good point then. Although I still say solar>Nuclear.

Also Centrifuge only uses 5 EU/t, so really all you need is decent storage that can keep it supplied over a long period. Or stick two on a generator -- just make sure to use them both at the same time as basic generators are wasteful of fuel and will consume a whole piece even if only half the output is being used.

Geothermal generators are smarter and will only use lava when it can be consumed, so they make a good early game stable EU power source for centrifuges.

That's rather late game is it not? I believe that requires a centrifuge. If I'm running a centrifuge I think a reactor may be a bit past me.

You bootstrap the process with lava, yes. But it's not "late game" because centrifuges are "early game" for gregtech. You build them shortly after your (hater) wire mills and circuit assembler. They're earlier than electrolyzers because they're LV.

I would not recommend a nuclear reactor. They're terrible. If you wanna go the simple way 2 Ultimate Hybrids would do the trick. Or if you wanna be complicated you could do something weirder.

How dare you criticise my lovely reactors! My reactor setup produces 5760 EU/t with only 12 uranium ore needed per cycle. I'd much rather use this than any piddly solars.

Admittedly, its a bit complicated, but if you solars you might as well go back to EE2 and use energy collectors - they do pretty much the same thing.

Personally, I'd recommend either geothermal generators (if you're more strapped for supplies), GT thermal generators (that extra 4 EU/t makes a definite difference), or if you're feeling...adventurous, you could strap up a tree farm and use a mixture of Power Converters, Applied Energistics, Factorization, and whatever mod of your choice to make the tree farm with. Then, just burn the wood using a bank of furnaces that are being heated with Factorization furnace heaters, which you can either power thru Factorization solar turbines or, if you want something that doesn't depend on the time of day, strap in a energy-to-charge converter setup to a battery block or two, and run some lead wire to your furnace heaters.

After that, using AE and some kinda storage (I recommend either AE chests or barrels) for the saplings and apples, turn the wood into charcoal, and use that charcoal to fuel a bank of regular old IC2 generators. Renewable, endless power that's very extensible and if I remember correctly, uses little energy in the process to fuel the whole setup.

Though, for your energy needs, you'd need 103 regular generators...but, novelty!
