i wonder why?I Can see this thread getting locked by tonight
Why dose the FTB Team use GT
Why dose the FTB Team use GT If most of the community are against it
If I remember correctly, the user community back in December when they release the Mindcrack pack and the Direwolf20 pack was very split on the topic and has continued to be so for a long time. Also, the people requesting the mod packs from FTB wanted certain mods. Direwolf didn't want GT so it wasn't in his pack. However, the Mindcrackers wanted it so it was included with theirs. Not sure about the history of Ultimate and the other packs.
Mind listing some mods where progression isn't tedious? Seriously, I've played a whole lot of mods in past and have yet to find one that wouldn't be tedious by your definition.people who say that gt is hard, simply doesnt know actual meaning of the word. i believe they seek word "tedious"...
Slowpoke was a BIG proponent for GT, he fell in love with it's progression and machines the moment he tried it. You might still find his first impressions of the mod in a video in his twitch account. If I remember correctly, the user community back in December when they release the Mindcrack pack and the Direwolf20 pack was very split on the topic and has continued to be so for a long time. If he replaces vanilla-IC2 machines with his own that have extra functionality and use the same basic crafting recipes I'd consider it a buff actually.GT pre 3.09 and 3.09+ make radically different changes to mods external to GT. Pre 3.09 they're sensible (base IC2 uu-matter is a problem) and/or wrapped in config options to turn off. There's really only one example failing both sides of that or statement: Tin buckets, and it's just not a huge deal. 3.09 quite literally breaks IC2, with no config option to turn it off.
That wasn't a particularly good reason considering the vanilla-nerfs are disableable and ultimate was already released with a non-default config file for GT.An old user by the name of Lambert2191 made a very nice argument against it being in the Ultimate pack. Basically the Mindcrack pack is supposed to be difficult so it's okay. But the Ultimate pack is supposed to show off as many mods as possible. Why have all these mods when Gregtech pretty much doesn't allow you to utilize them or take other tech trees?
Since we're all screaming are heads off about Gregtech anyhow, does doubling the amount of trees you need to punch actually add anything to the game other than more grind? I mean really, it's the only thing you can do at the start of the game.
Are there any better tech mods out there that have anything resembling a tech tree/progression?I do love the idea of Gt as I am a tech mod guys but the balance is just not there
all straightforward progression consists of tedium. its a fact. however if amount of tedium somewhat does match the reword, than you kind dont really notice or care about tedium. that`s an example of design, that i consider good.Mind listing some mods where progression isn't tedious? So I take it you don't have forestry either as all it took to blow up your worlds was to have it installed in a "wrongly" named directory[DOUBLEPOST=1374079896][/DOUBLEPOST]Greg put in code that could have crashed my server.
So what you are saying all mods are tedious, just GT is even more so? You also seem to be equating progression with tediousness so by that definition GT is the mod with one of the best progression paths out thereall straightforward progression consists of tedium. its a fact. however if amount of tedium somewhat does match the reword, than you kind dont really notice or care about tedium. that`s an example of design, that i consider good.
Getting a metal tool took zero effort before and was almost as good as stone ones except for being able to mine some extra blocks. With the recent changes it actually makes the tools be significantly better than stone ones so reward is definitely there.but when amount of tedium is greater than reword, you do notice that tedium, and its rather annoys you. that`s is an example of design that i consider bad. and its quite a shame that Greg chose this path. his mod had a potential.
Greg put in code that could have crashed my server. As far as I am concerned I will never ever trust a single bit of code from this megalomaniac ever again. I liked his toys I hate him as a person. To be so arrogant as to crash my experience of minecraft because I like what mdyio did to GT? As far as I am concerned this knuckle dragger can throw poop at others all he wants but i am done with him.

Didnt you say this was not the place for that old topic a couple of pages back ?So I take it you don't have forestry either as all it took to blow up your worlds was to have it installed in a "wrongly" named directory[DOUBLEPOST=1374079896][/DOUBLEPOST]So what you are saying all mods are tedious, just GT is even more so? Do you realize you just described how a tech tree progression looks like in pretty much every single other game out there?A chore is something where you have to spend a couple diamonds to get something that will enable you to get resources for another thing which at the end will take even more fuel and so on.
well, forestry is a mod that used to blow up worlds when user had the wrong file path so by his definition he shouldn't be using it. I was just checking if he knew it.Didnt you say this was not the place for that old topic a couple of pages back ?

i`ll try to be polite as much as i can, and consider that i`ve failed to deliver my opinion in previous post.So what you are saying all mods are tedious, just GT is even more so? Yes & as stated befor was the main reason I walked away from tekkit, while did agree with sengar on the principles the action was not to my taste.Do you realize you just described how a tech tree progression looks like in pretty much every single other game out there?
In comparison a mod like ThermalExpansion has zero pogression, all its machines are on the same level and can be crafted at same time using same resources. Once you have them the mod is "finished" and there really is nothing else to do but to copy the same machines all over again if you need them.[DOUBLEPOST=1374080405][/DOUBLEPOST]well, forestry is a mod that used to blow up worlds when user had the wrong file path so by his definition he shouldn't be using it.
