I can't make gates in this pack. They are listed in NEI but I cannot produce a recipe for them using NEI, nor does using the recipe from memory produce anything.

I'm trying to switch input into a rock crusher between two separate chests. One fills up v quickly the other v slowly and it's the slower one I want to be used for input first, but when it's empty the rock crusher should accept input from the other chest until there's some inventory in the slower chest. So I need gates to build a test/signal circuit.

Is there any must-have mods to add to the base pack? Because it has a somewhat...different mod list.

actually the must have mod that really needs to be added if they have a 1.7.10 version is "Power Conversion" mod, atm the only thing that converts RF to EU is rednet cable and it tops out at 1k rf per tick which i believe is 30 eu per tick.

Why is NEI acting weird? I started a new map and trying to change the theme to dark and turn on utility mode..so when I do the global thing it just causes the selection to move back to recipe mode and not turn global off

?

Didn't they change breeding? Don't you have to trade with them inorder for them to even have a chance to breed? Or is that 1.8.X

I have played both 1.8.0 and 1.8.1 and on both the infinity villager breeder was working without the need to trade with the breeding villagers.

How do you toggle the "Charging" feature of the Simply Jetpacks? I made a Flux jetpack and the charging feature was active, but somehow I toggled it off and I can't figure out how to "sneak-activate" it like the tooltip says. There's no keybinding for the charging feature.

Also, why has smelting Yellorium dust changed from producing the green Uranium ingots back to Yellorium ingots? Which is it supposed to be? The SMP server I'm playing on had a crash the other day, and when it restarted suddenly the smelting reverted back to Yellorium. Very weird but could be a config setting?

Any tips on reducing lag for a server? Me and my sister play through LAN and it runs fine on our computers in SP but on the server it lags pretty bad.

I haven't tried it out in this pack because I am not the far yet, but in the current Direwolf pack, the battboxes, CESU's, etc could be fed RF.

NEI does that sometimes for me aswell, though I have no idea how to fix it so I'm guessing I'm just doing something wrong

jetpacks themselves can only be used for flying, and battery packs can only be used for charging. there's an item that does both, but it's an end game item

and I believe if you process uranium it'll produce uranium ingots, and yellorite produces yellorium ingots.
you can always use an unifier from MFR to switch between the ingot types that are forge dictionairied.

I don't think that is accurate, I'm talking the "Simply Jetpacks" mod and up in the left corner of the screen it shows three words - Engine, Hover and Charging. Red color means it is off, green color means it is active. Engine is toggled by the F key, Hover is toggled with the C key and there is no key listed to toggle the Charging mode. However, when I first made my Flux Jetpack (tier 5, the top tier), the Charging word was shown in green. Somehow it got turned off and is now red. Additionally, if you check the in-game tooltip for the jetpack, it mentions Charging mode and it says something like "sneak-click to activate" but I cannot get it to work, the Charging indicator stays red.

and I believe if you process uranium it'll produce uranium ingots, and yellorite produces yellorium ingots.

Here's the odd part tho - The first 2 days I played this modpack, my Thermal Expansion machines were pulverizing the Yellorite Ore into yellorium dust but smelting the yellow dust into the green Uranium ingots. Then, middle of the day, the server crashes and goes down for 3 minutes. When it reboots, now my yellorium dust is smelting to the Yellorium ingots!! I'm talking 3 minutes, maximum!! It seems to me a config file must have changed during that crash. The server owner/operator/admin wasn't even online at the time!! So something happened inside the game itself. I need to know what changed, and why. I also need to know which ingot yellorium dust is SUPPOSED to be smelting into. If you look at NEI, you will see it is the green Uranium ingots and not the Yellorium ingots. How much clearer can it be than NEI? So why am I getting yellow ingots now, and not the green ones?? I know about the Unifier from MFR, I often have to use it for situations like this one. I have OCD so I'm a real stickler with this consistency stuff when I play Minecraft. LOL The modpack is not being consistent and it bothers me. Server admin claims he didn't change anything and I believe him. But what happened then?

Another question... every time the SMP server does a modpack version update, I lose all my previous exploration/mapping and waypoints from Journeymap. When I go into the Journeymap folder inside the FTB Infinity folder, I see the old data is still there in folders... so can anyone tell me if I can combine the older files with the current ones and restore my mapping and waypoints? Just do a copy/paste, will that work or will it screw my game up?

Edit: Might have found my own answer, it partially worked:

http://journeymap.techbrew.net/release-notes/

"Change: Data folder name scheme slightly changed to handle international characters that aren’t OS-safe. If your maps/waypoints are missing after the update, look in minecraft/journeymap/data/*/ and move the old folder contents to the new one."

I had to go thru each copied file one-by-one, and when it asks if you wish to replace the current file, if the new filesize was larger than the old one, I replaced the old one. If the new filesize was not larger, I left the old file in place. This seems to have restored my mapping, however copying all my waypoints into one folder didn't work for the overworld, they aren't showing up. The Nether waypoints all seem to have transferred over just fine.

The major problem I have is that I re-explored a lot of territory the first time I lost all my mapping... and it isn't easy to tell which files are which mappings except for the filesizes. I did most of my overworld exploring two versions ago, so my Journeymap data files are a total mess now. Waypoints are easy to re-create (the coords are right in the filenames) but mapping is very time-consuming to re-create.

The change in ingots when smelting is likely due to the order mods loaded up in, which is why it happened after a crash/reboot. Truth is, because they are oreDict, it doesn't matter. I completely understand the OCD. If you need a simple way to unify without any infrastructure, JABBA barrels locked to the type of your choice will accept any matching oreDict, but convert it to the locked/stored type.

Thanks for the answer, it makes total sense given what I experienced. I do realize they are equivalents in the Ore Dictionary, however that doesn't help my AE2 Export Bus to realize it - to the bus, they aren't equivalents at all. That was my main problem with the change, even if it was a relatively trivial problem to have. I simply changed the export bus from Uranium to Yellorium obv. Thanks for the Jabba barrel tip too.

Is there a way to produce Iridium other than UU? There should be a way that you can produce it, other than mining it or creating it from UU in my opinion

I actually found an Iridium Ore in the nether while flying around. Of course, it is a white ore so it looks similar to Nether Quartz Ore or Nether Salt Ore or Nether Saltpeter Ore. That's just brilliant. Or it's someone's idea of being a total jerk. I'd vote for the latter.

Someone really needs to invent a resource pack which does one thing - changes the Nether Iridium Ore block color to something like bright fluorescent green that spits out green flames. LOL

What's even worse for SMP... the server I'm playing on doesn't allow quarries to be used anywhere except the "Quarry World" which is a special dimension they set up solely for quarries (obv). However, this quarry world seems to be incomplete in terms of ores. I've quarried hundreds of chunks and haven't gotten a single Iridium Ore the entire time. So I'll probably never get to "end game" where the top tier tools require iridium.

You're better off just making it, if you can. IMO. Or, I could spend a few month learning Lua language so I can program my own ComputerCraft turtle to seek out Iridium ores in the overworld... yeah. Right. NOT.

Botania's Loonium plant. it can generate dungeon loot for the cost of mana, and iridium is often found in dungeon chest.
no jokes here, in one world I found so many iridium in dungeon chests alone that I could easily create a quantumsuit

If loot chests are an option, then go to Runic Dungeons' Dungeon Dimension. I have not touched IC2 in my current Infinity world and I have 22 pieces of iridium entirely from loot chests there (which I will likely not use as I haven't touched IC2 since its weird experimental phase). Additional bonus, free withers in an indestructible room and awesome baubles

Does anyone know if the issues with Emeralds not spawning has been fixed in 1.2? I used MCedit to prune my world and let it regenerate and wasn't able to find any in a hour or so of searching. Was just wondering if I was unlucky, or if it wasn't fixed.
Some people also said villagers randomly drop them. I "kidnapped" 4 villagers and put them in a room with a vaccum hopper and 4 days later, still no emeralds. Was wondering what mod makes them drop them since I have removed a few mods and it might be one of the ones I removed.
Edit. Found this in the changelog for 1.2.
Botania

Disabled shedding of blaze, chicken, ghast, skeleton, slime, spider, squid, and villager

Guessing this is why villagers aren't dropping emeralds now. Can anyone confirm that's what it means??

Yes that would be correct.
