FTB Infinity 1.7.10 Help, Venting and Discussion Thread

Probably most people will know this, but adding extrabiomesxl works perfectly in the biomes o plenty world type, for those of you who want more/different biomes

And now for a question: I'm running the pack okay right now, but I haven't delved into anything complex yet. If I start to get lag later on, are there any mods that contribute significantly to lag even if their blocks/items aren't being actively used by the player?

Hmm yes, I just checked the dates on the thread, and it looks like it was only recently revived, so there's only been one or two posts since the Infinity pack was created. Infinity is pretty much the most popular pack right now though, so I'm sure some seeds will be posted there soon, otherwise, Perhaps someone will post here and help out, I'm sorry it wasn't very useful to you. I'd give you my seed, but my Infinity is modified, so the seed wouldn't be the same.

Spawn on a desert beach near swamp (marked on map). Only biome type I've not seen yet is frozen. Some snowy mountains, but no glaciers or the like. There does seem to be a little biome ID glitching, as I've noticed a Twilight Forest Clearing and a Sacred Springs in the overworld (both south of spawn).

Off-topic, but iirc the twilight forest biomes appearing isn't actually a mod glitch, but rather due to how vanilla MC handles sub-biomes.

Do you know what grinds my gears... The fact that iridium ore from Advanced Solar's smelts into Iridium ingots but these ingots ( or the ore ) are not interchangeable with IC2 Iridium.....

Isn't there a way to change that? I was under the impression that a savvy person could adjust things like that.

does anyone have problems with the sprinklers from Agricraft? they seem to be causing me the same kind of lag as the sprinklers from Openblocks, where if you have a few of them placed down it'll lag the world quite bad.
it's already noticeable with 1 sprinkler, luckily the watering can from Extra Utilities also works but it's not the ideal solution for automation's sake

Yep, I put a few in the other night and things seemed fine then another player messaged me while I was at work that the FPS at my base was horrible. I got home was getting like 9 FPS, took out the sprinklers went up to 60+. I took them out and just put sporadic blocks of water

I don't know for certain, but I assume using an MFR "Unifier" would solve this issue. I'm assuming all iridiums would be the same in the ore dictionary, which may or may not be true.

it'd be nice if there was a way to stop the particles from happening, because I think it's the particles that are causing the issue.
perhaps a configuration option to turn off the particles?

Create a new world with spawn on beach is easy:
in config/biomesoplenty/misc.cfg
Find this and change it to true: B:"Only Spawn On Beaches"=false

Voila.

Simply Jetpacks: To toggle charging use Shift/sneak + the key you use to turn the jetpack on/off so in my case I use 'F' to toggle the jetpack on/off and shift+f to toggle charging.

Only mod I added so far is TreeCapitator (set to enchant mode), though when I get round to it I'll add the packager mod too.

Thank you! I asked this question earlier and never got an answer to it (until now). It might possibly be the most un-intuitive thing ever, or maybe I'm just a dummy and can't properly decipher a tooltip. LOL

I have 2 of them running off a single tank and I have no issues at all. I have used Invictus, Faithful, and vanilla textures and my FPS is staying between 60 and 80 no matter which one I use or whether I have the sprinklers loaded or not. I have vsync turned off and my framerate limited to 80 in my MC settings. Fancy graphics, Maximum Lighting, All particles, render set to 12. PC is i5 [email protected] ghz(OC'd), 560 TI superclocked edition GPU, 8 gigs DDR3 @1600 mhz(3.5 gig allocated through the launcher) so nothing special. It is several years old.

I can also not hit the air, like when you hold left click to break a block but just at air. My fist doesn't move or anything. I tried to add the thermal dynamics mod, and failed then removed all the stuff I tried to add to make it work and it happend right when I tried to add the mod, if anyone has a fix to this or has experienced the same thing, please let me know, it is kind of ruining my ftb infinity experience. Thank you all!

Check in NEI to make sure you are in survival and not adventure mode.

Thank you for the thought, but i can break blocks, i just cant kill mobs and animals or swing my fist in the air.
