As for 1.9 update, if you are talking about vanilla, it's still a bit far.
If you are speaking about FTB, even considering they skip 1.8, it won't happen until a loooong time.

I'm pretty sure he was talking about version 1.9 of the modpack, not the Minecraft version. 1.10.1 is now the recommended version, I don't know if 1.9 was ever recommended.

can somebody please tell me how to charge my electric jetpack? MFE wont do it, and I just wasted 16 diamond just to try to charge my jetpack. Is there a config file I can change to make this work?

He did state Electric Jetpack, so I'm going to assume it's the IC one...

Step one: Remove Electric Jetpack
Step two: make a jetpack from Simply Jetpacks
Step three: ???
Step four: Profit.

So I can no longer just run an electric jetpack, it has to be like leadstone ore something?, Is there any way i can just make it charge in the MFE like It used to? is the advanced electric jetpack no longer working either?

Don't get fooled by the ones who want to kill IC².

I don't want to kill IC2.. But I do avoid it at all costs :)

Big R, you will find that Simply Jetpacks is easy to make/use/charge. If you want to continue with the challenge that IC2 gives you, I suggest looking on a wikki.

Your idea of "easy to make" is horribly warped... I don't want to think about what you consider hard.
It might be the minecraft equivalent to making love to a broken bottle.

Simply jetpacks are NOT easy to make. They are a chore even with AE2.

The starter one is easy to make compared to having to hammer then cut bars of iron and copper umpteen times to make one piece :) But let's not go there. I appreciate GT for what it offers, it's just not for me.

I don't lilke GT either but what you said about "simply" jetpacks actually FELT very wrong to me...
At the least simply jetpacks is moderately difficult to make. But easy? Hell no. You have to build 4 dymamos for each stage.

They have the most nested RF mod recipes ever. you have to build 4 dynamos and 2 capacitors for the two thrusters then another capacitor for the final craft. Those two dynamos need 4 gears and the coil, as far as RF based mods go, Simply Jetpacks are the "greggiest" nested AF.
Now if you decided to use Simply Jetpacks late game and went from leadstone to resonant, you better hope you have and AE system running (which you likely would).
It's not super complicated but it's certainly not easy. I guess you could say it's easier then IC2 but not easy within it's self.

I wouldn't say it is. The sole difference is with IC2 you have tools for making plates and wires until you a get a machine to bypass them, while with Simply Jetpacks you have a lot of normal crafting to do. Just because IC2 uses tools before you can replace them with a machine doesn't make it any harder than a mod that forces long crafting chains outright. Heck, even TE forces you to use it's equivalent of an alloy smelter to make 4 alloys, and use the magma crucible twice to get the top tier of machine casing but that's never flagged up as unnecessary or complicated yet IC2's is. It was one of the first therefore is to blame for every other mod doing the same thing apparently.

They aren't that bad. We made them in AS1 without AE. They are easier to make than the non-GT gravisuite stuff and Vajra, and I think they are worth it for the functionality.

That's probably true but my final point is Simply Jetpacks is still guilty of nesting their crafting to the max.
Then again that's not saying that the expensive nested recipies are un warranted. Flight trivializes a lot of Minecraft's adventure aspects it should be a chore to aquire.
I'm just saying a person who decrys IC2's nested crafting should also decry simply jetpacks.

I started using FTB:I about a week ago on my own server and I absolutely love it. I'd only played vanilla MC on my personal computer before this, and playing it on a server with a few friends has made it into a totally different game.

So far on straight survival, I've built a large crop farm, explored some of the nether, built my first Forestry auto tree farm 3x3, gotten the level 1 jet pack, and tonight I started into the AE2 mod. I'm following the mod developer's YouTube page and it's been pretty simple so far (I have so many resources from mining it's not even funny), but I'm stuck on the crystal growth accelerator. Here's how I have it hooked up:

Furnace Generator ~> Leadstone Flux Pipe ~> Leadstone Energy Cell ~> Energy Acceptor ~> ME Glass Cable (Fluix) ~> Crystal Growth Accelerator

The generator is fully-powered, and the cell and acceptor are both fully charged according to their tooltip.

I have the CGA as a border for a 2x2 infinite water pool, and I threw 3 seeds into it just like the video shows, and then I check the CGA and it's showing that it's offline. I hit it with the wrench and it flips it around and dc's it from the Glass Cable, so I hit it again and turn it right side up. I left click/bashed it until it broke, and it turns out that permanently loses it so I had to build another one.

I've Googled for the last hour, both this forum, the AE2 wiki, and everything else I can find, and it looks like it's just supposed to work. I'm including a picture so you can see my setup.

What am I doing wrong?

You should only have one block of water, it doesn't get used up. Any of the sides that don't connect to the cable(stripy sides) will accelerate the growth. Also note you can have more than one accelerator.

Another problem might be that you're not giving it enough power as they're quite hungry or that you haven't chunkloaded the area.

Or you haven't set the energy cell to output, right click to open it and click on the little gear icon and set the left side to orange(blue=input, white=blocked, orange=output)

I got really excited when I read your post this morning because I realized I hadn't right-clicked on the Cell. When I got home from work to try it, my computer had crashed, so I had to buy a new one then upgrade it to Win10 (I hate 8.1 but got a great deal) and just now logged on to try your suggestion.

...and I can't right click the cell. I can right click everything else in the stupid room, but not that cell. It does nothing.

What other suggestions do you (or anyone else) have?

EDIT: I gave up on the conversion thing and built a Vibration Chamber, threw in some coal, and hooked it to the Accelerator. It worked like a charm. Maybe there's a big there somewhere but at least it's working now.

By energy cell I meant the Leadstone Energy Cell next to the Energy Acceptor, not the crystal zappy thing cos that doesn't have a GUI

Is anyone else getting huge lag with versions 1.10.1 or 1.11.2? My world slows to a crawl after about half an hour.

I've not seen much lag on 1.10.1, but then again, I'm running it on a 3rd party hosting service. I've set it to restart every 8 hours or so.
