I would quite like it if Eloraam created a new mod. Ideally open source (doesn't really have to be). It would likely be very innovative and would mean people don't get too hung up on RP2. We need to move on as everything great from RP2 has been replicated.
I probably wouldn't even play an updated RP2, but a new mod would be cool. Maybe something magic based.

Either that or she helped work on P:R.
No mod has truly replicated Pneumatic Tubes, which bugs me. At least not in the same style.

I would quite like it if Eloraam created the next RP with any license at all, and committed to maintaining it.
Or actually researched OSS licensing options before assuming she would automatically loose creative control over her mod. Or even accept pull requests from anyone at all.
Lacking those, I can only hope that no FTB pack actually accepts her new mod. And it can sit on the sidelines and serve as inspiration for the mods that will actually be actively updated.

Because I am sure it will be bloody gorgeous. But there are enough properly licensed alternatives available now that we don't have to tie our worlds longevity to the whims and real life distractions of a single, albeit inspired, mod author.

I think it would be ok if redpower was in one of the official packs. No one every makes an updated from one major version to another, there's always too many changed with mods (etc. thaumcraft 4).

Meh. She has stated on twitter she wants to focus less on compatibility, so blutricity might still be around. (Sorry I have no idea how to spell blutricity)
At least she said she'll likely move to new standards. So it'll likely have FMP Support. RF is pretty much a standard - maybe.

There are a lot of reasons for that, both technical and...political, I suppose. From a technical perspective, tubes had a lot of issues.

Also, I don't think FMP is necessarily the right call. We've pretty much conclusively determined that the 'duct issues are caused by FMP. It's something Z will be changing for the 1.7 release I believe.

That's a shame. I really liked that about TE3.

I wouldn't consider RF a standard (sorry lemmings), there still is MJ and EU, and IMO each has it's downfalls.

Hmm. I think I've seen more current mods that utilize RF than MJ and EU combined. As much as I remember the 'glory days' where MJ and EU ruled the coop, RF is the main go-to these days. I'd pretty firmly say that RF is *the* standard (IMHO, of course), but that can easily change again.

The FMP-caused bugs and problems with ducts? Because that's the part I hate.

I can't say there won't be an FMP-compat version at some point; I think ChickenBones has offered to make one. But given the issues with FMP at this time, it'd be suicidal to continue down the path.

That's to bad :/

What about build-craft façades ?
