For the record, I agree that the armor is silly. It needs understanding however that there is a place for silly-OP in some packs, even quasi serious packs.

I actually don't mind it in infinity-expert mode for my style of play because I could care less about anything to do with pve. I just want to industrialize. Given the choice between OP armor and just turning on peaceful mode in order to play the game I want to play, I don't mind having the option of working with the former.

If that armor was not OP, it was going to be a waste of Draconium and Cores. But i agree that Draconic Armor causes some balance issues. But its REALLY expensive, just like the draconic battery/reactor. And theres nothing some tweaking cant do, but Draconic Evolution is a KS mod...

This seems pretty simple, really. If you're running a PVP-based server don't include DE.

I have DE in my pack. It's supposed to be OP. I have OP enemies to counter it. The pack is designed around what I already know about the mod.

If you're running a server that really wants to keep DE for the energy crystals, then that's ok, too. Disable the armor recipes.

The beauty of modded minecraft is that you can tailor your experience for whatever the goals are. Where balance is an issue, don't include the well-known unbalanced mod. Or, introduce harder enemies so it becomes a natural upgrade. Or, if your pack isn't really so much about surviving, then just don't worry about it because it doesn't matter.

Its balanced internally with Draconic. You need the OP armor for the Chaos Guardian. No other armor will protect except the Avaritia stuff.

Somehow, someway, the mod developers need to come up with a system that (a) allows one item to be traded for another item based upon this idea of "equivalent exchange", but (b) doesn't allow the system to be abused. But how would that be possible? My plan, before I realized just how fast you can make Red Matter in the ProjectE mod (really, really fast), was to make an assembly line of MFR Auto-Spawner sending Villagers into a Tinkers Construct Smeltery for infinite emerald supply. How can any "equivalent exchange" ever hope to work when you can always find some way to create infinite materials?
Ah I love abuse, the Jam guy from AA could be infinitely traded into to make infinite emeralds.

It’s been 6 months since anyone posted in this thread, 3 years since it was originally created, and all the issues, pros and cons have already been hashed out IN the thread, so I don’t think anyone is actually mad about it anymore...

Draconic Evolution right now is a very rough gem in my opinion, and it needs some exta loving and attention to really turn it into a good mod.

I agree with this statement. While I love everything about DE, I made the energy core T8 and a reactor one time. Never again.
