this morning I updated to the latest DW20 pack, but since then my game starts lagging horribly after about 15-20 minutes till it eventually crashes. it keeps giving this error after that time "Detected leaking worlds in memory. There are 4 worlds that appear to be persisting. A mod is likely caching the world incorrectly"

full log is at http://pastebin.com/J1EGe4XZ
some other mods I have installed is what's my light level, optifine, armorstatushud, plugins for forestry 2, better anvil, advanced solar panels and monster spawn highlighter

I thought it was optifine at first, since I also updated that, so I downgraded back to C3, but that didn't help.
what I also noticed is that the portal I had open in my base from my portalgun kept breaking each time I loaded the world after the update, I had to re-open the portal to be able to use it.

Portals from the Portalgun can cause severe mem leaks. Also long BC Piping systems can cause a lot of load.

the thing is, this didn't happen before the update, and the portals are not that far apart from eachother. and it's a new world I started 2 days ago, so I haven't even set up anything with BC pipes and such yet.

I just noticed once, that when I was playing with the portal gun (Think it was the Fead the Beast Pack Beta v12) my server's memory usage exploded.

well, I know it's not because of the portals because even when I have them closed it still happens.
also, it just happened again, I get a horrible lag, and the game goes to a "Shutting down internal server..." screen.
I checked the console, and there doesn't seem to be any real error showing up, except ofcourse the

Code:
2013-02-19 14:09:39 [SEVERE] [ForgeModLoader] Detected leaking worlds in memory. There are 4 worlds that appear to be persisting. A mod is likely caching the world incorrectly

I noticed a similar warning, but with Mindcrack pack. This morning I tried to load it up and it actually crashed before I even got to the splash screen. Pastebin here.

just now it crashed me in less then a minute -_-
it seemed that going to another program window caused it, but instead of the internal server screen I just got a black screen.
and here's another pastebin http://pastebin.com/XLtUvPLQ

EDIT: alright, I quite until this gets fixed. again I crashed in less then a minute, I can't even do anything like this.

Mine is also leaking after about a minute, I've been trying in clean worlds, so it's not related to anything previously done, I've been trying to work out whats causing it by removing all the mods, and rebuilding the pack, but so far I've only got the world gen-ing mods, and its still causing memory leaks. so it's not looking good for 5.1.1

it's good to know I am not the only one with the problem. I was planning on doing the same as you jacob, but hearing from you it's pretty bad.

I just tried back dating to 5.10 and the game refused point blank to load. So going backwards in not an option for me.

I hope someone can help us with this soon :(
I've checked some other tech topics and used "severe" as search word in their pastebins, and it seems some other topics also have the "Detected leaking worlds in memory. There are 4 worlds that appear to be persisting. A mod is likely caching the world incorrectly" error

I am also getting this error on the unmodified MindCrack pack v8.1.1.
I have my own SMP server, which I upgraded last night, and just now looked at the server console. I tried restarting it in case it was a one-time thing, but nope, it gives me the same error on the second start-up.
This is just a few days old world. I have no portal guns, and my longest BC pipe is about 5 blocks. I have 1 or 2 pipes atm.

I will now try and hop on and see if it crashes.

I'm beginning to suspect forge, It seems completely random, sometimes the set of mods can run fine, it seems indefinitely, others the world leaks in a matter of seconds, so it seems my method doesn't help pinpoint any specific mods :(

sadly i dont think it is world gen that causes the error since the areas that seem affected in my world is not newly generated. but will try to delete the world and try booting a 5.1.0 world with the save from 5.1.1 to see if that helps later today

I had the same issue last night. My server host was offline due to a data center issue so I just fired up a SSP world using the new DW20 pack. I had the same errors in the console window within 10 minutes of starting my new world. The only thing I had built by that time was a crafting bench, a furnace, and a chest.

I redownloaded a clean DW20 v5.1.1 pack, didn't install any extra, but did download his EP30 world download, opened the world, and within the minute I got that error.
maybe everyone has this error, but it only gives problems for some? and because not everyone has a problem, that they don't notice the error...

I am going to load up the mindcrack pack aswell, and see if the same error comes up.

EDIT: yup, same error comes up with a newly downloaded mindcrack pack... sigh, this is really getting frustrating.
