So i was sitting there crafting and mining my own business (bu dum cha) when a creeper comes from behind me just as i turn around blows up several of my chest. My junk blocks chest spews open along with my metals gems and dusts chest. As I'm searching for the chests and discover only one of the diamond chests survived another creeper approached and destroyed all of my valuables and now i'm basically ruined. Sure I have a little infra-structure but not much and now I don't have the iron I needed for my boiler and major power generation. Now the question is do i jest set my turtle up and wait or go caving?

Ha, I wish they worked (I may be a bit mad still) But I have at least a dozen of little f*cks and a creeper was right in the middle of them. So I got my cat band and ran in, try and scare him away. But no, he exploded and killed me, ignore every cat there. Then it happened again, with two cats at my side. And then nearly a third time. Do cats even work properly of should I just kill em all?
Since you got/made all the stuff in the first place, obviously you will be able to make it again. In the absolute worst case, it will take you as much time to regather as it took you to get it all in the first place. And unless you lost absolutely everything of any use or value, which I highly doubt, it will take you much less. If you survived you still have your armor/jetpack/drills/bags/whatever you carry on your person. And no matter how compact you build your machines, I can't imagine a single creeper blowing up all of them.
So yes. "I can't recover" is a complete nonsense.

I'm not sure that Mindcrack pack has that where can i find it?
Suck it up and go caving there is always more stuff to get.
Take it as a learning chance. You obviously need to secure your storage better so learn of it. Either there is a way in or there is a lighting issue.
As Abdiel suggests there is no "I cant recover" in MC unless you did something that blew up your PC and even then that is a just a set back. There is always more stuff it just takes work and time.
You might not like the idea of doing it all over again but that is just a fact of life in MC. Today it was a creeper tomorrow it might be a Version update that forces you to restart your world. There will always be something that comes along and has a chance to wreck things. But all of them are recoverable.

Yes, creepers suck, but there is a pretty basic rule that you should always consider when creepers are a possibility. Don't leave stuff in the open. I've just started a new game, and yes I did leave chests around, yes it was a risk, but I've just finally finished building a building where I'm now going to move everything. Now I'm in a position to build a machine room. yeah, it's going to be basic, but I can work in there with no risk of a creeper walking up on me.
I've lost stuff the way that you did there, but the only solution I had was to make sure that the pricks couldn't sneak up on me.

Pretty much has allot to do with context and in this case you are taking it out of context i was only hoping for some friendliness advice and kind oppinions and to assume I'm some sort of new player is completely incorrect i have been with this since before the first Halloween update when they added biomes before it hit it's most large popularity boom to date that came with that
GMF Jr. Then my advice really is still the same. Learn from your troubles. Find out Why you had a random ceeper in your storage palce and make it better next time around.

IMO if you follow the advice to turn of creepers or play peacefull your not playing survival. And tbh if you end up turning them of you have simply given in because it's too hard.
Just follow a few rules and it wont happen again. ie: lighting / fences cats etc.
I have cats all around the outside of my base. They are far away because in truth there not needed and the noise will drive you nuts.
It's all about lighting. obsidion pressure plates and general security.
As pointed out, you can recover from anything in this game.

Oh, obsidion chests (though not needed imo) is an adition to Iron chests mod by CPW if I recall.

Ahh.. a little rage-quitting never hurt anyone. if you really haven't built anything of value yet, then just kill the world and start a new one. if you do have something you care about, and/or have already gotten to the point of automated mining, then just put them machines to work. they'l replace everything in no time at all.
besides, you can regen the world with the same seed and get more or less the same world back sans all the damage you did to it.
