My definition of a regenerative Energysource, which I won't use, unless it's my Fusion Reactor, as that thing is quite expensive:
A regenerative Energy Source is a Block/Machine/Contraption, which is just needing initial Resources and/or a certain but very abundant or artiffically creatable environmental Condition (Sunlight, Wind or Water for example) to produce Energy over time. However, if that environmental Condition is very limited, like Dragon Eggs, Dragon Healing Ender Crystals, Chaos Emeralds etc., it doesnt count as regenerative, as you can neither recreate those conditions, nor are these abundant. As of these Rules following Concepts are definetly considered regenerative:
Any kind of Solar Generator (especially Advanced Solars and Compact Solars)
Same with Wind and Water Gens of all kinds.
Anything which runs on an Automatic Farm (especially Forestry)
Anything releated to the old Powerconverters Mod (technically the GeoGen Mk II doesnt count, but 50000EU per Lava is a bit much for that cheap thing)
Any usage of Lava created from the Magma Crucible and similar sources.
Creosote Oil from making Charcoal in a Coke Oven (you can use creosote in a Boiler, this doesnt count as regenerative if you don't have a Tree Farm at all, and you just run around and lumber down Forests)
These are just a few examples. The following concepts are not considered regenerative:
Usage of Products which are aquired by manually farming Crops (but not Trees! Even manually farmed Trees count as regenerative as that's too easy, even with the Bonemeal nerf of Minecraft 1.5!).
Usage of Oil/Diesel fueled Generators/Engines/Boilers.
Usage of Creosote Oil, which you got from regular nonregenerative Coal.
Usage of anything, what you mined from the World.
Usage of things you get from Trading (As you "ofcourse" don't know where the opponent got his Stuff from).
Usage of everything what requires Fuel maintenance (The RC Steam Turbine Rotor is not a Fuel for that sake!).
Dragon Egg Siphon, Magic Energy Absorber and rare things like for example Chaos Emeralds (if there is any Mod that has 7 of those).
