I ran into something that kind of threw my mind for a bit of a loop while setting up my Extractor system, coal. After going through the Extractor, the coal ore gets turned into coal flakes. OK, makes sense. But then you smelt the flakes to get coal. That didn't really make much sense to me. Then I got to thinking, maybe have something that takes the coal flakes and compresses it into coal? Then I remembered the Compactor, but it takes coal and eventually turns it into diamonds. Maybe how about an alternate mode that has lower requirements and turns the flakes into coal?

Sorry if this is a weird suggestion, it's just that I find it odd that you smelt a pile coal bits to get a coal chunk. Metals and the like sure, but not coal. I can understand why it's like this though, a lot easier to just mass code "flakes -> smelt -> final product". This could also be used for maybe other types of flakes as well. It would give more use to the Compactor.

Could the grinder grind meat? ;]

Just an idea, that perhaps putting raw steak or chicken in the grinder comes out as 2x ground meat of that type, then when cooked is back to normal cooked meat.

Rotarycraft, your choice for meat doubling!
I like that idea, but the final product should say something like "reformed meat, almost identical to the original product" in very small print at the bottom of the tool tip :p

Even better if you could just drop the animals on the grinder to have them processed. Quadrupled output but no regular drops (wool/leather/feathers).

I'm surprised Reika hasn't already done this :p

These are awesome ideas! Especially the coal one. It would be much more efficient than what we have now. The meat idea in the original form is a little overpowered. If you have a ton of meat, now you can have two tons of meat. See what I mean? But the dropping animals into the grinder is brilliant! You could even make skeletons output 6 bonemeal for really efficient skeleton farms.

:)

Buuuut, by this logic, turning a "ton of ore" into 2/3/5 tons of ingots (pick your ore-doubling method) is also silly. Fortunately the mass of given objects is arbitrary: One can make the argument that cooking 50 pounds of raw meat gives you 25 pounds of edible food, whereas cooking 50 pounds of "grindered" meat gives you 50 pounds of edible food.

and btw grinders already create obscene amounts of bonemeal :p

I believe Reika touched on the smelting ore flakes to get refined resources such as diamonds but so many different processes are used for so many different things it would require added a large amount of machines that could be seen as bloat. Honestly my opinion is that it fits within minecraft physics to smelt the flakes, in a world where raw iron ore can be melted and presumably castes into pure I got in a machine which appears to have little capability.

EDIT: meat grinding is a brilliant idea. Only use the muscle and you might get 10 pounds. Grind the whole darn thing up head including for maybe 30 pounds, and coat them in breading. (There is a reason mcdonalds uses the whole chicken)

So you would take the uncooked meat, grind it up, mix it with bread, cook that in a furnace, and then get ... RcMiner's (pronounced "RickMiner's") meals?

But unless you're feeding an entire server of people, there's no reason to stockpile 57B of meat in your AE system for eons to come, right?
Perhaps all that meat could be converted into its purest form of energy by burning it for its calories. I know that FZ adds the caliometric burner; is there anyway in RC to convert food into steam (/power)? It could then be used to power a turbine or something.

And while we're on the topic of food, maybe there could be a helmet that stores food and then feeds you when you're hungry? Coil-powered, steam-powered, whatever works, I guess.

I haven't looked at the manual lately, so forgive me if these are already implemented.

The idea of a spring loaded helmet stuffing chicken McReika's down your gullet certainly made me laugh.

I take it you haven't played Magic Farm, or with Hunger Overhaul. Then you might appreciate food multiplication.

"Oh are you hungry little fella? Here have a dozen mouthfuls of chicken fingerrrrrrrs!"
Call it Gluttonous Load-bearing Accessory (that) Does Overpowered (food)Stuff.
I have used HungerOverhaul in the past; not currently, but I might put it in later. It's torture in the beginning, but it gets easier as you move along. But near the endgame the result is still the same: millions of food items in your AE system and no use for it. What we need is a high-tech solution for all that food to go to.
I have not played MF2 yet; from the sounds of it, it's also torture. I'd rather just make my own modpack. =D

Perhaps, much like McDonalds, a chicken McReika has no food value. ;]

It heals 0.5 pip of food bar, but zero satiation. You can never get full.

After you eat 300 of them, you get mining fatigue!

This is not Rotarycraft, but it is one of your mods. How do I turn the block form of the dyes into the item form? I turned quite a few dyes into blocks before realizing that I could not turn them back into dyes.

Can we find out how other mods make NEI wrap around the tabs on the interface GUIs for machines? That'd be a nice usability upgrade!

More of a bug, but I'd like for the contents of a bedrock breaker not to disappear if you restart the server =)
If you have dust accumulated and restart the server, you get the "plop" sound on right click, but no dust.

The newer versions of TE, including all versions with that feature, cannot be run in a dev environment, and thus I cannot plug into it.

An easy fix.

Place and break.
