^^ Aka, Are your doing a direwolf20 in his season beginning episodes haha :D

Fear not, Jedi. I am reading this thread with rapt attention. ^^ This man ( @YX33A ) always has good advice. I'll let him speak unencumbered :). You know what they say about "too many cooks... blah blah... "

Oops, that quotation was in poor taste.... considering your deaths have been mostly hunger related. :)

** Sent from a browser after having a sumptuous meal IRL, and feeling the post-meal sopor.... :p

But seriously, I only give good advice when I'm not suggesting things that only fools would do. And those times it's mostly attempts to chlorinate the gene pool.
I could name a dozen or so people who are better at pretty much anything in Minecraft these days. I just have a broad scope of knowledge and a knack for picking up new things.

Saw your gallery. The lower you go down the dungeons, the better the loot quality, and the more insane the mob spawns. Loot chests are also trapped, the lower you go... "BOOM!" Remember, the modder took his inspiration from none other than Vechs. He's out to kill you. The dungeon chests contain soup, bread and other saturated food stuff, AFAIK, so, unless @Eyamaz mucked up the loot chest distribution, dungeon chests are actually a good source of chow!

Also, Reika's ender forests lend themselves to impressive screenshots![DOUBLEPOST=1398937050][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yes, to your first remark. But then again, "there is always a bigger fish"! So shush, you. Credit where credit's due. Take a bow.

As for your second remark, that's what constitutes the ability to give good advice in my books. For, it is the broad scope of knowledge that comes handy while troubleshooting, or in getting out of tight spots. :) Take a bow again, and give this guy all the moral support he deserves in this MAD and masochistic pursuit :D

Small question: You walking around or running and/or jumping like a kid with ADHD who just got some candy? The only correct answer is walking. Slow down and take it easy. You'll starve less.
Another useful tip is villages. Butchers sell the better foods and Farmers sell Pam's Harvest Craft crops, if you didn't know. Good food may not be cheap, but it's only emeralds. I'm sure you can find a way to extract it from them.
If not, I may know of a way or two...
A. Im not running around like a kid on ADHD (Although many people would probably claim I have ADHD, which I do not)
B. I cant find any villages D:

Au Contrare, I welcome any one who wants to speak. Ive learnt that its not the wisest thing to only listen to one source (as good as that source may be)...[DOUBLEPOST=1398937526][/DOUBLEPOST]Starved to death while eating dinner IRL...
How ironic.[DOUBLEPOST=1398937625][/DOUBLEPOST]15 Deaths so far...

First remark you replied to, I should clarify: That's with any given thing I do, I could name a dozen or so people who are better at it then me.
Second one, I admit, this is true. I am good at troubleshooting. It's basically what I'm gonna be doing for a living when I get a job, helping people who may not be as tech savvy as they should be "fix" any and all issues they have with their computers. Maybe it'll be thankless. Maybe not. But I do know this; I already do it in domestic life, and on the internet, so I may as well find a way to get paid to do it since it's natural for me.
...Ideally I'd be a scientist, or an engineer, but I doubt my grades were good enough for that, so I'm going with what I know I can do.

And I'll be humble if I want to be, which in this case, I do wish to be humble. I mean, I know most of these things only because those dozen or so people who are better then me shared this info. Some of it I know from firsthand knowledge, but really, that's mostly Ars Magica stuff and general troubleshooting, mostly based around building modpacks from scratch.

I REALLY wish there was a way for me to (eventually) control these mobs. That would make one awesome army.[DOUBLEPOST=1398938515][/DOUBLEPOST]Wow, my flint axe is as good as a stone sword :D

I do not discount anything you said. It's what most of us armchair professors in these forums do. :) Build up a cumulative pool of knowledge. But my analogy is jazz. One band jams a tune. Another one picks it up and improves upon it, making a few additions as they go. A third band does yet another improv iteration,. All three are original, AFAI see it :) Perhaps you are taking the third band's place in this analogy. But you know what, I cannot take anything away from you, as much as the other two that made a fine tune before you, from which you based your tune on :)

But, you know what? Be humble if that's your style... :) But I'll still go saying, "Shush, you! Credit where credit's due. Take a (humble) bow and tackle the next tune" ;)[DOUBLEPOST=1398939175][/DOUBLEPOST]

Way to be going with that move! You really need a farm, some bones, some berries and a surplus :)

Make some of that wheat into seeds, and remember to right click the fully grown wheat instead of left clicking it. Hunger Overhaul and all that.

Shame the drying racks aren't all that useful with Hunger Overhaul. They barely make the food more filling, if at all, and then Hunger Overhaul makes them less filling, and the cherry on that cake of suffering is that they don't give well fed.

I need you to expand this remark a little bit. What's this hunger overhaul mechanics and click thing that you talk of?

This is the TiCo rack? So, you've counter mastered the one-hit kill that zombies were previously inflicting on you? Or did you get a enchanted weapon from the loot chest? Either way, life's looking up, eh? :p

As YX33A, any pack that's designed to "get you" via whatever mods you have in the pack requires you to drastically change your gameplay from vanilla behaviour. You in effect have to unlearn a few things, and learn a lot of new ways of doing things. The key thing is slow down, and get any sort of food source established. Don't worry about mining/shinies/dungeons at the start.

Speaking from experience from my and other server players many many many many deaths in my Omega Dawn pack :D

Hunger Overhaul adds an option that when you right click crops it's knows, it will harvest the crop without having to need to replant, but removes (by default) seed drops (you get seeds from the wheat).

Memo to self. Remember this for future reference.

Also, is this part of a specific mod? Agriculture?

Hunger Overhaul is it's own mod. Changes vanilla crops (growth times, harvesting, seed drops), and also supports Pams Harvest Craft. You can use Hunger Overhaul just fine with other food mods, you just don't get the "Well Fed" buff but also those mod plants are not (usually) affected by the changes in growing times. You'll just end up eating more of those foods, compared to less of the slower growing crops. Balances out nicely.
