So uh... now AE is not only the most powerful autocrafting mod and one of the best storage mods, but it introduced a power conversation and unification framework today.

Which is sort of fair game: ME cable is the most expensive cable in the entire minecraft ecosystem. But Dayum. AE for Everything™. And I thought Mekanism Energy cubes and Mekansim Unified Cabling was powerful!

... I thought it only converted stuff into ME Units, not from ME Units into other power. It'll let you place a second ME Network Controller somewhere without needing power input at that location, or charge the Vibration Catalyst or Matter Cannon, but you can't pull MJ out of it with wooden conductive pipes or charge an RE-Battery or a Redstone Energy Cell.

((That does mean that I can charge the same network with a solar panel array on top of my house, the combustion engines halfway down, and a nuclear power plant in the basement, without running cable and pipes everywhere. Which is more than useful enough.))

"Any networks connected to the power relay will share the powered that is injected into the power relay. and any networks connected to the power relay can share their power with each other."

This may be ambiguously worded, I guess.

I think it's allowing you to power one network controller, and then from there put a power relay to power another ME network from it.
It doesn't seem to allow conversion back from ME units into EU for example.

Yeah. From quick testing, it'll take ME Energy Units from one ME Network and into another ME Network, or MJ or EU from outside sources into an ME Network a distance from the ME Controller, but it won't push EU or MJ into cable or conductive pipes. Don't use energy conduits, but I expect they'll act the same.

At the risk of the mod author(s) reading this thread I'm going to post what I suppose quite a few people are thinking but not yet expressing lol.

IMHO, one thing is currently missing from AE to make it even more powerful and awesome than it already is: the ability to access resources in your storage system (and thus also in your autocrafting system) from remote locations.

Now before anyone yells at me...I know the wireless access terminal sort of provides for that but that is limited to (iirc) 16 upgrades thrown into the wireless terminal. My base isn't extremely large but I cannot access my storage from the location of my tree farm, for instance.

What I'd personally love to see (and which is probably going to be referred to as "OP") is the ability to create a network and be able to access that from a base in the sky or a lookout tower or even a secondary base some 2k blocks away from my main base. I realise I could run ME cables all that distance but that doesn't quite cut it lol.

Just some random and fun thoughts I'm throwing about...obviously I can live without having it but this would make it truly amazing.

Cheers,
Bel*.

Some kind of item 'teleporting' could be added but it should require a LOT of power.

I've started building a system for remote access, but it's kind of complicated and resource-intensive in that it takes up two full stacks of whatever resource you want to access, and requries one Router per item type.

I think the limited range of the remote access terminal isn't going to go away. What might happen is an interdimensional ME link, a way of building a remote network that is connected to your main base network, and installing a remote access terminal there. So you'd still be limited to a 32 block remote access radius but you could set up access nodes in other dimensions. Not sure. Maybe full access to your entire inventory system from the Nether, the End, the Twilight Forest, etc. is OP.

The power relay's nice, I guess, but what I'm really looking at is the Matter Cannon. Thing's like a Mining Laser on steroids. I'm liking it already.

So you guys know, in the latest update, the range of the wireless access terminal got extended.
It now has a base of 32 block range, and gets two block radius added per upgrade, for a maximum total of 64.

Depends on what you load it with, I guess. I don't think Matter Balls are going to have the same impact that metal nuggets will.

Seem a little less powerful than arrows, and they cost 256 items a pop. Not a bad alternative to a void pipe, though.

Put a wireless terminal down near your tree farm. You can have more than one for more coverage, hence the limited range of them.

you can tweak that in the config (always could)

I understand that and, where my SC tree farm is concerned, I certainly will do. What I won't do, however, is run ME cabling all the way to my 2ndary base which is 4,000 blocks away and that's what I was mainly referring to.
