Is there a way to turn the spawn rate down?
Spawn rate of anything in particular?

Most ores can be tweaked in world.cfg in the cofh folder in your configs.

If you're talking mobs, the easiest way to tweak spawn rates is to change the difficulty setting. If there's a specific mob from a certain mod giving you trouble, most of those can be altered in the mod's config file. Or you could just lay down a Magnum Torch and not have to worry.

Does cursed earth ignore the spawn restrictions of a Magnum torch?[DOUBLEPOST=1390087407][/DOUBLEPOST]
Thanks for letting me know. I'm just having a giant holdup with Ender Pearls, pretty much unable to progress without them. -_-

Safari net an Enderman; put in MFR autospawner, push to grinder, collect more pearls than you'll ever need. (To collect essence, have a couple of forcewrenched spawners naturally spawning mobs to be eaten by a grinder).

What are folks using for XP farms these days? I'm not much a fan of MFR and would prefer an alternative to mob grinders.

Without soul shards and since you don't want to use mfr the best way would have to be a vanilla spawner which you can move with portal guns and the mfr portaspawner. The options are unfortuneatly limited without soul shards

Question:

Is it possible to have multiple fusion reactions per casing?
I got 1 ring made and 1 set of injectors and extractors working just fine. But I saw someone having 4 sets of extractors and injectors, 1 on every side of the 'donut'. I have tried this for myself and can't get more than 1 set to produce plasma.

I mean the mob spawn rate, even on easy I die all the time, mostly of hacates ( did i spell this correctly?) and the angry and furious zombies, theyre just sooo many
So what do I have to change in the config, I've never done that before

How do you go about getting a cursed earth farm to safely produce experience when it spawns creepers?

The key is to keep yourself out of eye level of said creepers, and to injure them to be assured 1-hit kills. Can do this a number of ways; vanilla water-drop towers, iron spikes, piston suffocation, and many more.

Angry zombies and hecates have a chance to spawn in the place of a normal zombie. Furious zombies only spawn from eerie biomes (from TC4, usually spread from obsidian totem nodes).

You can turn off hecates in the AM2 configs. You can disable furious zombies in the TC4 configs (turn off "hard nodes"). You can't disable angry zombies through TC4 configs as far as I'm aware.

Past that, there's not much to do to affect zombie spawn rates (in the direction you want), there were "swarm" mechanics added to vanilla Minecraft in 1.6 that you are also likely experiencing.

To elaborate on Tristam's point: to actually change a config look in .../[Modpack]/minecraft/config and look for the file named something similar to the mod you want to change. Open that file in notepad (or equivalent program) and start scrolling through. There will be a lot of stuff that probably doesn't make much sense, just scroll past that or just search for "hecate" and you should pretty quickly find what you're looking for. I haven't actually messed with the ars magica config, so I don't know exactly what to change, but most configs distributed with FTB nowadays are pretty good about helping people figure out what needs to be changed for settings like this that people are likely to tweak. Once you've made your change, save the file and relaunch FTB.
