Is there a place where we can get a modlist comparsion of the different FTB modpacks? like one column is Infinity Evolved Skyblock, the other column is Skyfactory, etc?

would be useful but i've never seen any site do this.

this site was the closest to what you're asking: https://feedthebeast.atlassian.net/wiki/display/PML/Infinity+1.7

but the homepage says it's not being updated anymore, and the link to the new page (http://www.feed-the-beast.com/modpacks) is nothing like the old page.

With the old pages, it was fairly easy to do your own side-by-side modpack comparison, just open each modpack in its own browser window and tile the windows.

Once again (note to FTB team)... "newer" is not always better. Sometimes its worse. Hey, that rhymes with Curse, whaddya know? LOL

It's a bit outdated but this exists, set to Skyfactory and Infinity Evolved for an example.

I am using a custom modpack and for some reason I can't make refined iron in the Induction Smelter using 1 iron ingot and 2 Pulverized Coal (Thermal Foundation - item id 4430:2). on the other hand, I can make when using 1 iron ingot and 4 pulverized charcoal (Thermal Foundation - item id 4430:3). I can't insert the Pulverized coal into the Induction Smelter in any way, and no, the Flux Slot is not locked.

It's not a blocked recipe, because when I look up reciped for Refined Iron in NEI it shows this as a possible one and when I use 2 Coal Dust ( IC2- item id 4111:2 ) and 1 iron it works.

"We as a team sincerely hope that everyone enjoys using the Curse app as much as we do..."

And what if we don't? I guess we don't have a choice. We've got a few months left with FTB, and then... I have a very strong suspicion not only is the FTB Launcher going away but so will the actual words "Feed The Beast". Apparently it is over for good. We've been Cursed. sigh

http://www.feed-the-beast.com/news/166-ftb-launcher-news

Sorry guys, the FTB Launcher was by no means perfect, but it was your little baby, your pride and job. A job VERY well done. And along comes these corporate suits at Curse, and that was that. I wonder if there was any money involved, or was this the way some but not all of the FTB team got "real jobs"?

Ah whatever, I wish no harm on anyone, and quite clearly there is something driving the move to the Curse launcher. I hope someday I understand what it is. But I doubt I ever will. It's not my launcher, it's not my game, and it sure ain't my world because I'd run it a heckuva lot differently than the clowns in charge run it... Anyhow, good luck with the move guys. No bad wishes, but I do still think this is all a huge mistake you're making. My opinion.

EDIT: I want to add my sincere thank you to all the FTB team, for all the joy you have brought the players over these past few years. I can tell you that, if not for Feed The Beast, I might never have delved into playing modded Minecraft, given my distaste for having to "dig into the guts" of programs and modify them to my liking. FTB was the first, and will always be the best, even if just in memory only. :)

Wrong topic friend, unless you really are asking that quasi-rhetorical question (edit: I thought you linked to it, but there really is a thread dedicated to this already, i'm looking for it)

edit edit: rant here :)

You probably mean the year-old thread on the curse launcher that has ONE post in calendar year 2016. Even tho it's pinned, I decided this thread would be better.

I just have a need to post my thoughts and opinions on matters, and I'd rather do it subtly instead of making a new thread for it. This always seems to be the best place where my words might get read by those they are intended for, but where my words will quickly get buried and fade away as if they were never even said.

How do you use the tome of alkahestry? I thought I knew and it was just craft a charged tome with an item such as diamond and it'll craft into multiple but I put them in a crafting grid and no output appears so I figure I'm wrong.

Don't you also need to craft the book with an appropriate combination of redstone, lapis, and lapis blocks?

From what I remember(this is back in 1.4.7), you used one tome to turn large stacks of common items into redstone etc. Then the other tome you craft it with a single item you want to duplicate and the corresponding stack of "offering" items(that you could have farmed with the reverse tome).

Here are some recipes:

Are the BC Architect Table and Builder in a working and stable state? I have a plan in my Inventions world, but it would be greatly aided if I could use this combo.

It seems Schematica isn't exactly what I hoped it would be in this regard. Or am I just using it wrong?

indeed they are i used them earlier in 1.7.10 to construct the skeleton/frame for a blood magic altar area (wont place tile enites though normaly, the way to make them do it requires creative mode access)

Good to know. Here's a related question: if I build a structure in single player creative, it can be moved to a server by moving the blueprint file, no? I understand I'll have to supply materials and the non-creative building rules apply.

Or will I have to install Recurrent Complex and trashcan a Strongbox full of materials?

bc wont care if the blueprint was made in ssp world that had creative as default , a blueprint can be made in creative mode and used in survial mode on a server as long as the blueprint is is not creative only (setting in the architect table when making the blueprint will only showup if the player using it is in creative else it will be a normal non creative one that can be used in survival ) when the blueprint is used/inserted into the builder (if its a creative only one it will say so in the blueprints tooltip) the builder will clear out any space it needs if thats was allowed when the blueprint was made (another setting in the architect table) this is called excavation , when it does clear out space, any blocks it clears out get voided (it will ask for power to do this MAKE SURE its aligned properly before u feed it power )it will then use any blocks(and fluids? well it works with water) the blueprint specifies are needed if the blocks are inside the builder inventory(in fluids case u can bucket in the liquid or probably pipe it in) and place them in the location of its work area that the blueprint specifies

Excellent. This confirms my understanding, but several places (wikis) I looked said it was disabled long ago with no hope of return. I'm happy, for once, to see the wikis are outdated and incorrect.

Any size limitations I should be aware of? My project has a rather large footprint, and if I need to build it in sections (might be a good idea anyway), I'd like to plan for it.

I dunno about size limitations, but the Blueprint Library (if it's been reimplemented) should allow you to move blueprints between worlds and servers in a totally survival-friendly way. At least, I think that's what it does...

Hello! My friend and I are playing FTB infinity evolved. Somehow he managed to disable the tool durability bars in the hotbars (those that go from green to red as the tools get damaged).
I tried to do some digging on the issue and it seems like the usual solution for fixing this issue is pressing F3 + H at the same time. However when we tried that we just entered the Hat Interface.

Help?

Thanks!

Have set up a water wheel, kinetic dynamo, and wires into an LC Capacitor as illustrated:
2016-06-19_23.11.26_zps1xe8aali.jpg

But according to the Volt Meter, the LV Connector attached to the Dynamo is not receiving any power (and so, obviously, the capacitor isn't receiving any power either). The wheel *is* turning. What have I done wrong?
