Oh, you meant the brown dot is on the batbox! On your image, I have a generator and solor panel on top, and that same wire going to the top of my macerator. I took a screen shot, but can't find it in my computer, sorry.

No worries, but yeah, the brownish dot on the generator is the output face. Connect the wire to that, and then put the macerator on the end of that wire. From there, put the solar panel touching the battery box on any of the other faces, and it should work.

Does it rain in desert biomes? Im right next to one and thinking of moving my solar panels out there

I believe the lack of rain graphics does not change solar panels losing efficiency during bad weather. You won't see the rain, but it'll still cause the sky to darken/etc. I may be incorrect, and if so, let's hope someone knows for sure.

Interested because that may be the case with storms, but when its raining usually, soon as i travel over to the desert...bright sunny sky lol

From the code of MineCraft (v.1.4.7 as MCP with Forge deobfuscates it):
public static final BiomeGenBase desert = (new BiomeGenDesert(2)).setColor(16421912).setBiomeName("Desert").setDisableRain().setTemperatureRainfall(2.0F, 0.0F).setMinMaxHeight(0.1F, 0.2F);

The spot that receives power on the macerator doesn't allow me to place a the pipe that feeds in ores to the spot that gets smelted. How do I fix this?

By connecting the cable to a different face of the macerator.

Only the energy storage devices and the transformers have designated input and output faces, because they are the only ones who can both input and ouput. Generators only output, and can do so from any face; consumers (like the macerator) only take input, and can do so on any face.

Why do I keep getting a machine block when I destroy my macerator with a wrench?[DOUBLEPOST=1363348114][/DOUBLEPOST]
Input through the top, output from the side, power from the front, back, or bottom.
is the back the side with the battery pack type of thing?

You need to right-click with the wrench, and only the electric wrench has a 100% safe mode (which also consumes a lot more power). You can activate electric wrench safe mode by holding 'm' and right-clicking the air with it.

I made a screenshot for you since it looks like that explains it the best aswell as easiest: http://lappro.net/pic/stuff/maceratorinfo.png since the image is quite large I post it as link instead of image, just click on it to view it.
I used BC pipes there (and crystal chests so you can look inside though any chest will do), BC pipes are the easiest to setup but I do recommend using RedPower tubes since they don't have overflow, or use hoppers with the BC pipes and you are relatively safe.[DOUBLEPOST=1363353964][/DOUBLEPOST]

I also used glass fibre cable instead of copper cable, this way you can see the dot is on that side otherwise the copper cable would have covered it, both work though.

.setDisableRain()

Yes, as I've already stated, it does not "appear" to rain in the desert. That aside, though, the issue is in if, when it starts to rain/storm (which happens even if you are in a desert, you just don't see it), does that cause a solar panel's efficiency to be lessened. Because even if you are in a desert/wasteland/mountain ridge (red rock), while you won't see rain, the sky will still darken a bit and it will still be raining elsewhere.

If it is the case that, even if it is raining/storming elsewhere desert/wasteland/mountain ridge (red rock) biomes do not cause solar panels to be lessened in efficiency, it'd be good to know. But, most likely, solar panels work of the global state of the weather so rain/storm triggers a lessening of efficiency with them no matter what.

The back is the side that isn't the front
The front is the side that faces you when you place it and has a black rectangle thing on it.

Java 6 is the version of Java that runs with the least issues. If you can manage it, you should use 7.

well. I believe Java 7 may have broke my game. That's the only change I made to my computer other then editing some GT recipes.Do you know anywhere I can dowload Java 6 for Mac? The website doesn't have it because Apple supplied the older Java versions.
