I just tried playing with the magicfarm pack for a change in pace, but whenever it tries to launch MC I get an error message saying:

There was a fatal error starting up minecraft and FML

Minecraft cannot launch in its current configuration
Please consult the file C:/************/Downloads/MagicFarm/minecraft/ForgeModLoader-0-client.log for further information.

The ************ is my name. I looked at the file but its just a bunch of technical mumbo-jumbo. Can anyone tell me what the problem is?

I can. However, There are two files, one called 'ForgeModLoader-client-0' (which is an ordinary text document) and 'ForgeModLoader-client-0.log.lck' (which is an lck file, whatever that is).

The second file is a temp file,so don't mind it.
Looks like Forge is broken or it can't download some files,try to reinstall it.

Are bee traits harder to push through breeding on species that don't have them?
I'm wondering because I was trying to breed a pure line of temperature tolerance +/- 3 bees(to put the drones in the isolator) so I got to doctoral, got through mutation a few with that trait and bred them but they reverted to lordly and each time there was only one or 2 bees with that trait and the breeding seemed to favor the temperature tolerance +/- 0 of the lordly bees.
I then changed the last drone and the queen(both with 1 +/-3 temp tol gene) I had to doctoral and bred them and instantly got a queen with +/-3 and drone with +/-3.

If you have unusual firewall settings, Forge might not be able to reach the download site. However, I consider this to be highly unlikely (almost no home user messes with their Windows firewall or installs a third-party one).

Maybe your internet connection was sketchy at the time. Or maybe the Forge file server had an issue. It regularly gets overrun with download requests. Try again during a different time bracket. If not, try going to the Minecraft Forge forums for support - there may be other people there who posted the same error.

Each breeding consists of a princess and drone, and each trait on those bees has an active and inactive version. For each trait the offspring has, it'll randomly pick an active/inactive version of the trait from one parent and an active/inactive version of the trait from the other parent.

So, if one of the two parents do not have +/-3 temperature tolerance, then it becomes impossible for the offspring to have both active/inactive +/-3 temperature tolerance (with a 50% chance of getting it at all if the parent that had it didn't have it as active AND inactive - if it did, then it's a 100% chance).

If both parents have at least one instance (as active or inactive), then there's a 75% chance the offspring will have it, with a 25% chance that it'll be as both active AND inactive.

If one parent has one instance of the trait and the other parent has it as active and inactive, then that's still only a 50% chance the offspring will have it as active and inactive.

You may find it easier to just create a stack of drones and put them in the acclimatiser. If the drones are stacked it should process the entire lot in one go, giving you plenty of fodder for the isolator.

I knew all that but I was wondering if the species played a mitigating aspect when they were concurrent genes(because it seemed it did but I may just have been lucky then).
Anyway I got my +/-3 temp tolerance like I said once I changed them to doctoral I instantly got a line with only that trait(hence my suspicion on species interference with gene distribution).

If I have a liquid tesseract delivering Biofuel to a bank of Combustion Engines, and the engines are outputting to an energy tesseract, is there a "sweet spot" for how many generators that should actually be? Not too many, but not too few? I know that liquid tesseracts can only pump a set amount of liquid, and that energy tesseracts cannot recieve/send unlimited MJ, either. Is there a recommended set up for this kind of thing?

Liquid tesseracts can move up to 1 bucket per tick. I don't think you can build enough combustion engines to consume that much.

On the other hand, energy tesseracts are limited to 100 MJ/t, IIRC.

Unfortunately, this isn't the answer either. I've tried deleting & re-downloading it at various times, and still no luck. What's strange is that just now I downloaded Unleashed 1.1.4 (didn't have that version yet) and it works fine. Only the MagicFarm pack has this problem (which is a shame since it has a bunch of mods that aren't in the other packs).

EDIT: Another unrelated question: has the bug with the factorization thoroughness upgrade been fixed yet (i.e. does it actually do anything now)?

The energy tesseracts are actually 100mj/t per side, so each one can receive and send 600mj/t if you attach a machine/pipe/conduit/energy cell to each side.
