So you went through a nether portal... and wound up far away in the overworld?

It is one thing to go through a portal, then try to return and wind up a bit more than 1k blocks away from where you expected. That's a normal consequence of having other portals nearby and vanilla nether portal mechanics.

http://www.minecraftwiki.net/wiki/Nether_Portal#Portal_Linkage_between_Overworld_and_Nether

Sometimes that is fixed by breaking all portals except the two you want paired, sometimes not. On a server with lots of other people making portals it is best to give up on predictability and just bring a way to teleport home.

If you really went through a portal and immediately arrived at a different part of the overworld... wow.

My friend built me a slime spawner on an Ultimate server way back in the day that involved a central pit for the slimes to drop in and a wider ring around the pit lined with Sentry Turrets.

How were the turrets done? Because when i made a farm with turrets they would always despawn or die.

Question: I am unable to find Bauxite in ANY biome. Is there a way to retrogen Gregtech ores?

Bauxite only spawns in forest or plains biomes, some of the mod forest/plains biomes work, but for the most part you're better off assuming they don't

It spawns quite frequently so you shouldn't have a hard time finding it once you get the right biome.

Is the only way to automate the harvesting of fruit/nuts from trees using the forestry farms or is there another way?

I know where it spawns but it's not showing up and your statement doesn't answer my question. Is there a way to regen Gregtech ores?

A recent change (not sure when) is that it no longer spawns at all heights. Bottom level is 35 or something like that. Are you only looking around diamond level?

If I were Crazy enough to play a game without TE or BC, what mods out there have alternatives to the Pump or Aqueous Accumulator for acquiring water?

How much water do you need without those mods?

Was wondering what it'd be like to have a modpack with Railcraft, but no TE or BC. Can use Railcraft water tanks to gen water, but I was wondering if there's another way. Can use ExtraUtils to pipe liquids around and Railcraft tanks to store them.

Ah ha, yes you're right. I forget about those tanks.
