OK, another one. Is there any block that can emulate a player's presence. Specifically, I would like to make a wither farm in the nether running off of a skeleton spawner. But, I don't want to babysit it. I want a steady stream of heads coming in.
I also would like one, but the absence of such blocks is because mob spawner checks presence of the players in a world's dedicated list. Fake players can be added to that list, but it will cause unpredictable side effects, because only true players are expected to be there. A trick that could be done with a spawner is to change its nbt data to increase the range at which it detects players. Of survival solutions I know only an item from my mod - Fine Tool, which can change spawner properties using music disc 'mellohi'.

Well that's some good insight! Thanks!

I'm trying to automate a wither farm in the Nether, so the range thing won't help unfortunately. My hope now is that if I switch to a powered spawner type, perhaps it won't check for the player in the first place.

So, Refined Storage liquid crafting is being.. well. dumb...

https://imgur.com/a/9JAOJ76

I've got lots of liquid redstone, enough buckets, the proper recipe, yet it keeps looking for a pre-filled bucket of liquid redstone to make the signalium..

What am I doing wrong?

Coincidentally, I ran into this same issue a couple of days ago, and there's no way any human would have thought of this on their own. You have to craft the recipe as processing with the liquid directly, no bucket. Not a regular recipe, but the kind you'd use on a furnace or sag mill or whatever. There was a tab on the left to switch to the fluid on the processing grid so you can select the direct liquid for the recipe.

Edit: you owe me several gray hairs, lol

Okay.....

I switch it to liquid, then it won't let me place the dusts to make signalium...

using the processing does the same thing, won't let me place the dusts...

Go in as processing, find the recipe in JEI. Remove the bucket of redstone, then switch to fluids. Put the fluid in the spot it would go in, print the disk. It's basically two pages on the crafting window. Super counterintuitive.

Yeah, didn't seem to work, the recipe won't cross over if it's in processing mode (no + sign) and if i start in regular and try to switch to processing it clears the recipe...

Got pictures? I must be missing something

Trying to make sure I'm not steering you wrong here and now it's not working, lol. It literally worked fine for a while, now I can't even get that fluid screen to pop up.

Edit: it's being extra weird, though, so gimme a minute to see if I can make this work again. Maybe see if I can find the post I googled to see if I'm missing something.

Ok, so yeah, that was it. I guess I owe you some gray hairs back.

So, now that you know how to make that pattern with the fluid, lol.... You need to do that to make a craftable bucket of that fluid, but then a normal pattern with the bucket in it like normal (I'm testing with creosote/treated wood). THEN build a fluid transposer from thermal expansion. Point a crafter at the input. It has to actually pour the fluids through the machine. I am watching it work now.

I must have had a couple of buckets in there when I tried it before? I'm not sure.
