I watched a little showcase. It's perfect. A little easier to make than the other one I found and I dig the pillars. They actually kinda perfectly fit what I'm trying to do. The return scrolls are also a really good idea, especially as a consumable. Puts it right where I want it, progression wise.
the dislocation charm slotted into the other the block uses an eye of ender to craft yes, but when its in one of the 2 blocks/structures it does not degrade or ask for upkeep.
The enhanced dislocator does consume ender pearls for operations(and is a lot more expensive to craft in the first place) and the normal dislocator will disintegrate from use if its used from a player's inventory
There are plenty of mods that will let you create ice blocks (Thermal expansion being one I believe) and place blocks (buildcraft, rftools, etc)
But not, like a freeze gun that will make frozen blocks out of not just the source water block but the rest as well? Because I feel like Minecraft needs a freeze-ray gun. 
The idea I had would have been to make a platform to put source blocks on, letting the water flow as its wont to do, then freeze that, then break some random spots on the sides to let the water flow out and make the wall a bit less even, then freeze that, etc etc. If I have to place blocks one at a time, I don't know if I wanna do it that way. Only problem with my idea is that it's pretty much only good for the one thing, so it probably doesn't exist.

Also, that's why I mentioned the block-placing mods, so you don't have to place them one at a time. In the case of Buildcraft for instance, you just place a few markers to indicate the boundaries, give the machine a ton of blocks to work with, and it fills the entire volume with blocks.
That is a good point! No Buildcraft for 1.10 (god I miss this mod so much already. Can't wait for the 1.11 version) but there are others as you mentioned. I'd have to shape it manually, kinda ruining my whole idea there, but plan b isn't so bad either. I'll look into it. Thanks!

Had a bit of a thought for this. There are wands that will exchange one type of block for another. One liquid that does have a 'block version' of its flowing form is lava (flowing lava becomes cobble when hit with water) You might be able to construct your irregular wall in that manner, and then 'wand' it into ice blocks.

I have a neat idea off of this to build this wall. It's happening. I refuse to go into creative mode for anything but picking seeds, but I might make an exception to test this at least. Anyone know if you can pump fluids into the AA fluid placer? It would seem you can, but none of the wikis are particularly clear.
If anyone has any advice on how to mass produce thousands of blocks of Ice, that would be great, too

TE Glacial Precipitator or something? Just loading up and will do some investigating. I'll update the post when I have info.
Oh, no buildcraft. What are my pump options? This is FTB Beyond, with some additional mods added in. I can add more if need be, but I'd really rather not. I'm up to 211 already.
Edit: NM, there's a whole mod just to replace the ender-thermic pump. Thank god for that!

Yep. Put in one bucket of water and get out one block of ice or snow. Or you can get 4 snowballs.
I would recommend resonant upgrade and some speed augments in it along with a sink or whatever other supply of infinite water.

Glad to see I helped ^_^ I have a penchant for building crazy things in survival, myself - and a rather unhealthy obsession currently with lava.
EDIT: @Drbretto - I've switched up my resource pack for some clearer water. Gives people at least a chance to figure out what's what here.

I've always had thing thing about water and lava, even since my first ever build. I can't wait to try what I had in mind that you inspired. I'll record it if it works out. This might be neat.

Yeah, I tried to enhance the image, but this is one of the problems with Deep Ocean builds. -_-
Night vision helps, as does Aqua Affinity on your helmet, I think. The upside is anyone without that completely passes over without knowing you're there (which I always thought was the point of hidden bases).
