Well, I used them in Version 7.something, so you should probably update.what version are you using? I am still using 5.0.1.
If enough people ask for it, I'm sure. I hope it is...Anyways, back OT is there any possibility this will be "officially" added to any of the modpacks?
In one of Direwolf's recent server play videos he basically says they want to add it to the pack but they think it's too OP at the moment.
I love the idea that power failures could potentially cut you off from your inventory, making it extremely difficult to fix the power.
The latest version of AE, rv.8c, fixes all the bugs with facades. As for the autocrafting, make sure your pattern is encoded with 1 ore in the top left corner and two dusts in the output slot. Put it in an ME Interface on top of a powered Macerator, then attach an ME export bus to the back (you will probably want to power it from the bottom.) Make sure to use an ME INTERFACE on the TOP of the machine and an ME IMPORT BUS on the BACK, and make sure they're both hooked to the same ME Network. Also, I think there were some bugs with those type of recipes in older versions, make sure you're using the latest version of AE, rv.8c. If all else fails, redownload the mod, because AlgorithmX2 has reuploaded it several times with the same version number for small fixes.
Thats why you have a backup generator or two, and a chest of fuel and basic supplies. If you have a particularly large, power-hungry network, you can use ME dark cable and a lever to deactivate all the nonessential parts in an energy crisis.[DOUBLEPOST=1362157401][/DOUBLEPOST]I agree, this is an incredibly expensive mid- to end-game mod. It is not OP in any way. I really like the mod, and would love to see it in a modpack.
I have just redownloaded the mod and uploaded it to my server as well, that fixed it. I had the same version but it was probably as you said minor updates without version numbers.
For the ore processing I put the ore in the center of the grid, would that have made a difference? Either way I think my automatic version works for me.[DOUBLEPOST=1362160864][/DOUBLEPOST]Powerwise, I dont think this is an OP mod. Ive been messing around with it at leisure because i have the resources to do it. Though finding enough quartz has been an issue, I have had to quarry out a large area in a new mystcraft world to have what i have now. The storage chips really hit you up for quartz.
It's also worth mentioning that ME chests work. So you can make an emergency ME chest and a single engine or battbox and go in, rip out your storage cells, and bring them online by hand in the chest. Everyone's FAQ's and tutorials say you need to start with a controller, but you can make a solid case for early-game with just a chest and a redstone engine and then a few cells as needed. I'm also very excited about the idea of using a quarry in the nether with an ME chest and making cells just of netherrack. That's going to be a much more effective way of getting lava from the nether.
The notion of popping out storage cells and moving them via pipes and minecarts is also really cool.
Assuming you're aware of Magma Crucibles, remember that even the lowest-tier storage cells can store more then a diamond chest as a single item, and get more storage space the less types of items you put in it.A battery powered ME chest is also a good option. As for the Nether thing, I don't see how that will help at all with getting lava.

This means you can cram enough netherrack to fill several barrels in a single chest, though at the cost that you have to have a working ME network to access it.
I haven't really played with FTB much yet. Just looked up Magma Crucible, so it all makes sense now.
Basically producing lava with nettherack is both lava and energy positive with magmatic engines (although only just). This results in a small surplus of power and an big surplus of lava, which has many uses in Thermal Expansion. The big challenge I faced was that it was easy to amass a diamond chest full of netherrack, but really tedious to actually get it somewhere useful. At some point it's actually easier to set up a lava pump in the nether (and WAY cheaper), which is what most people end up doing.
But with this mod, it's possible to keep a huge and dedicated supply of netherrack on hand in a custom ME network, swap cells in and out, and also cause a lot less lag on the server from chunkloaded flowing lava calculations. And netherrack is an interesting substance for use with mods like Gregtech.
From what I can tell from the spotlight, it sounds really clever. However I am slightly concerned that it does too much, essentially obsoleting every other storage/sorting system. I don't know how balanced the power or resource costs come out to be, but this is definitely a concern. The requirement to have everything connected by cable adds an additional challenge for compact setups I guess, but I don't think this is too much of a downside that would make me want to use something else.
