nether irridium isnt impossible... the first time I went to the nether there was one like 4 blocks away from the portal in plain sight...

Most likely an earlier version.

I'm only 5% into my newest test with the ender quarries. Same setup 8 quarries 64x64 for a total of 128 chunks. I changed Emerald, Iridium, Titanium and Uranium from BlocksPerGroup of 2 to 3. So far I already have 3 Uranium, 3 Emerald and 82,000 netherack. By now I would have had at least 5 Diamond, but guess what, I have none so far as I set Diamond from a BlocksPerGroup of 3 to 2. I'll let the quarries finish, but I'm already confident that there is a bug in the math code that if the BlocksPerGroup is 2 or less that you will not get the ore to generate.

@PiggyWhiskey If you want to rerun your massive test with the changing all BlocksPerGroup in the config of 2 to 3 and BlocksPerGroup of 3 to 2 and post the results..

Edit: Adjusted numbers based on results while I was typing.

Titanium? Slow down there, what does this look like, Mariculture city?
(on a serious note, you're a testing machine - Excellent work. What does mcedit say wrt ore distribution?)

(on a serious note, you're a testing machine - Excellent work. What does mcedit say wrt ore distribution?)

I was just changing all of the ores that I did not generate in my previous test which just happen to be the BlocksPerGroup = 2. I've never used mcedit to analyze ore distribution, just copy and pasting parts of worlds. I'll have to check into it.

Another test might be to leave the BlocksPerGroup = 2 and jack the GroupsPerChunk to something crazy like 64 and see what happens.

eh parses and drill test in 1.0.0, 1.0.6 and a few other versions had no dice on any of those. i haven't seen a version where the per group on the rarebit was over 2 as downloaded. beginning to think these people are running on servers and not grasping when the server ops have modified things quite a lot. which of course still doesn't explain jaded or her specific test groups results.

i am legitimately beginning to suspect claims that it and the drill work are the result of A : a giant troll on all of us and B : people running non default setups or servers and doing poor accounting/ not knowing better.

also i was under the impression that alternate servers(bukkit, mcpc) were unsupported, so wouldn't worldborder(bukkit plugin) generated test just muddy things even if it supports our analysis? that was the main reason i was restricting myself to effective default server/ssp and a post facto analysis with mcedit(which then cannot interfere with the generation of the raw regiondata).

nothing too special and while the same region it does help to note that generation is not identical even with the same chunk area and seed. i tossed most of these regen and analyze logs, as i had what in practical terms would be called hundreds. once i let the doomsday array run a bit longer i may stop and do some of the netherores config alterations and analyses if they aren't already out there by then.

also i was under the impression that alternate servers(bukkit, mcpc) were unsupported, so wouldn't worldborder(bukkit plugin) generated test just muddy things even if it supports our analysis? that was the main reason i was restricting myself to effective default server/ssp and a post facto analysis with mcedit(which then cannot interfere with the generation of the raw regiondata).

Worldbuilder shouldn't muddy things - it simply chunkloads all of the chunks in an area to precompute the worldgen so it doesn't happen during player exploration. Loading a chunk from disk is faster than doing all of the mods' chunk generation routines in series.

Update... Well found out what was crashing the server, i had made some cobblestone fences from extra utility and but some around my base so i dont fall off will building something. I opened my world in mcedit removed all the fences and server started right up. let me know if you need any more info.

Edit: now that i think about it, i do have a big base maybe what was going on was, it was trying to connect to a fence that was next to it, but the chunk wasnt loaded where it was trying to connect too. so it was crashing saying chickenchunks was the problem when it really wasnt... just my 2 sents

Weird.. but would make sense. Maybe. I'll run it by the devs.

nothing too special and while the same region it does help to note that generation is not identical even with the same chunk area and seed. i tossed most of these regen and analyze logs, as i had what in practical terms would be called hundreds. once i let the doomsday array run a bit longer i may stop and do some of the netherores config alterations and analyses if they aren't already out there by then.

It would work as a troll except.. I have streamed it.

It would also be possible for it to be just my settings except the modpack on the launcher is a copy of my settings.

I still can't duplicate this. I again went to skyboy and asked. And while I did misunderstand and it shouldn't actually come out of the Laser drill in versions 2.1.2+ because of a change in configs, it should still be generated in the nether. If it will make you feel better I can change it to 3 in the next config. But I am getting Nether Iridium from somewhere in my current playthrough. And people have completed the map and quest book. I'll just increase it to 4 in the next config and increase the amount you need to collect.

Any further discussion about this will be deleted as duplicate bug reports.

Titanium? Slow down there, what does this look like, Mariculture city?
(on a serious note, you're a testing machine - Excellent work. What does mcedit say wrt ore distribution?)

Did an analysis on the chunks generated in the nether while I was running around setting up quarries approximately 10,000 chunks were generated.

ZERO Diamond with a BlocksPerGroup = 2, down from the default 3 and GroupsPerChunk = 4.
592 Iridium with a BlocksPerGroup = 3, up from the default 2 and a GroupsPerChunk = 1.
1,812 Emerald with a BlocksPerGroup = 3, up from the default of 2 and a GroupsPerChunk = 3.
1,795 Uranium with a BlocksPerGroup = 3, up from the default of 2 and a GroupsPerChunk = 3.

I ran the analysis on a world that I generated for testing purposes a while back that had approximately 25,0000 chunks generated running around and ZERO Iridium, Uranium and Emerald were generated using the default BlocksPerGroup = 2.

I am going to run another test with the BlocksPerGroup = 2 but with a stupid high GroupsPerChunk = 64 for Iridium and see what I get.

i wouldn't still be trying to find why if it weren't for that, i was speaking more to the reports of it working from random individuals, as whereas you may troll in game, you've always been supremely professional as to packs, the wiki, forums, etc(and i figure the possibility of this was probably irritating you almost as much as our going on about it). i've also seen completions though on average the majority are quite old versions(which in turn are suspect given bugs preventing some quest completions back then, the half dozen on imgur for example are in this category).

anywho, a giant thank you on the updated information, i will just wait and see. (post may get deleted, but yours did deserve some appreciation, and a clarification that i was NOT calling *you* a troll on this)

I'm have a bug to report! It seem like the minecraft crash everytime you interact with backup energy cell from AE! It crash every time you place a lever or open GUI or break it! Then it count as your life were over and delete the entire world for you before you can even backup!(version:2.1.4)
Edit: I also found a dupe in 2.1.4, when you place an advance drawbridge and open it listed inventory and when you place a strongbox with item in it, it will deploy the strongbox! however when you deactivate the redstone the drawbridge will destroy the box and spill the item the strongbox contain!

I appreciate all of your hard work on this pack :)

I would not be trying so hard to figure this out if I was not having a problem with it myself. In my normal playing world, which was started approx a month ago and in the last few weeks have had heavy use of laser drills and ender quarries. Aside from a single block of Iridium ore that I got from a quest reward, I have not seen any in my experience. As well as not being able to find or quarry Uranium or Emerald from the Nether. I really believe there is a bug in the code that if the BlocksPerGroup is not set to greater than 2 it is simply not possible for an ore to generate in the nether.

It is not stopping me from enjoying the heck out of the map and I'm not really concerned about completing every quest. I just want to help out and I am concerned that anyone new coming to the pack will not be able to get Iridium.

Last time I am going to concentrate any effort on this subject. I tested setting the GroupsPerChunk to 16, 32 and 64 with a BlocksPerGroup = 2 with no results. I then restored the default config and did a mass edit of all BlocksPerGroup to 2 and generated some new chunks by teleporting and running around the nether. Absolutely no Nether "type" Ores were generated in the new chunks. Which pretty much clarifies what I was seeing in the code earlier..

I made a post in the PowerCrystals forum post and opened a ticket at Github with the information I have on the issue.

Thanks again!

Just an update about the thaumcraft bone bow not working with the infinity bow fix... I updated to 2.1.4 version of the pack and I still need to carry a single arrow to make the bow work.

If you decide to leave it as not being obtainable via laser drill, don't forget to remove the part of the laser drill quest text that says it would be.

So recently I've been having between 5-15 second lag when breaking blocks or opening chests or really anything on my singleplayer world. I have over 100 FPS, I removed all my fluiducts and itemducts and turned off any automation I had, but I am still experiencing this lag. I am running 2.1.4 and I have added no extra mods. My console is being spammed with this message.

Code:
2014-05-14 16:56:11 [WARNING] [Minecraft-Server] Can't keep up! Did the system time change, or is the server overloaded?

EDIT: I opened up a new world to see if the lag was world dependent, and I'm experience the same lag on a brand new world, still with over 100 FPS.

Have you been running opis yet? If not, add it to the pack and run it with /opis

Got a bug of sorts. When an MFR fertilizer fertilizes tomato crops (possibly other hunger overhaul crops as well), the console gets one of these:
Code:

It adds up quick:
Code:

Teeny weeny bug here: If you click on a Deep tank controller while wearing a Thaumostatic harness that's in flight-mode (Default: F), it crashes your minecraft without shoving a crash log in your face (still gets generated).

Happens regardless of Deep tank controllers location (doesn't need to be attached to the tank multiblock structure)

http://pastebin.com/zP0FCz66

E: Welp, forgot to inform that the version is 2.1.4
