Locked chests have a 'no texture' (the white box) with the 1.5 update; I don't recall it being this way a few weeks ago; but am not sure.

Conversions and updates are coming along far more quickly with the help of LAGIdiot, popwebz and artdude. They have really turned the tide on this 1.5 conversion. Amazing how Gregtech, Mo'Creatures, Greg's Lighting, OpenCC, MiscPeriphs, Mystcraft, ChickenChunks, Ender Storage, Magic Bees, Better Than Wolves, Nuclear Control and Soul Shards can be converted/unstitched within just a few days with new blood. I've been getting worn out with all this conversion, and I can't say how grateful I am for these guys to come, join and contribute.

Also, big, big, news:
GoldBattle created a new customizer for Soartex that is compatible with the 1.5 texture format! You can also patch your result with the mod patcher to add mod support.

We've just finished populating it with textures. Test it, play around with it, tell us about the bugs you get. We are going to need help converting it to 1.6 compatibility.
By the way, this file here can be placed on top of any mod ore on a difference layer to convert it to the brown shale stone in the customizer:

I think it would be neat to have a mod in the patcher that enables shale brown ores, could somebody convert everything? XD


Going forward, I want to take better advantage of this 1.5 texture format and better distribute the workload. I was running around doing spot compatibility fixes for months, and remaking while I was at it. After this initial conversion, I can stop working on FTB as a whole and focus on one, maybe two mods exclusively because mod support doesn't break on update. I have Forestry and Vanilla in mind. This is a community project, and I'm expecting mod support to improve from treating it that way. Pick a mod or two, make it look nice, and put your own touch on it. It will look far better than my rushed hands would ever make it look. ;)

I have an issue with the light and dark xychoriums in this pack being discolored. With them both looking rather similar as a dirty yellow. This is a problem between optifine and soartex. It also is not a problem in Mystcraft worlds for some reason. I had a friend confirm the issue for me so it isn't simply me.

Update: This is a problem only with Soartex. Sphax 64x does not have this problem.

Update 2: "environment\lightmap0.png" was the problem.

@Wally: Yes. Basically any texture that hasn't been made are textures we need help with.
@Biggles. Wow, now that is unexpected. What a surprise! I would have never guessed it was the lightmap. That's such an important texture though. :(
Soaryn and SP614x won't make updates in the 1.4.7 versions and I value the lightmap over those bricks. OP has been edited with instructions on how to fix the bricks.

@Biggles: I remade the lightmap in late 1.5 and it's now in the 1.6 pack. I think it will fix the problem with those bricks.

Awesome to see such an active role taken. I personally can't wait for 1.6 FTB so that will be great. Both me and my friend love this pack so thank you.

@Biggles: I started learning Gimp in late 2011 to make textures for Soartex. In my mind, I'm only now making textures that are up to par. Even then, only some of the time! So I've been retexturing all of my old work, and the lightmap fell into that category. You probably don't see me taking as much of an active role because I'm focused on cleaning up the old stuff, and that work never makes an update look very big.

Would love to use this pack. Sadly there are a lot of the most common textures still in vanilla version, like food or armour. Also a few biomes do not have own textures yet.

So I'm trying to use various downloads of Soartex (somebody's 32x for 1.2.5 works great, by the way) but all the 64x versions I'm downloading (1.4x and 1.5x) are giving me the following error when I try to change to them

Are the textures for 1.5.X mods still a work in progress? I downloaded the patcher and ticked off the 1.5 versions (close as I could get to the Unleashed mods) but alot of machines and items from IC for example are not updated.

Edit: Scratch that, hadn't 'patched' it :)

It appears that it only work with the ores but not the gems and stuff from like biomes o plenty, uranium from ic2
and apatite from forestry.

sorry if this has already been asked, i've looked through the thread and hadn't seen it (it is quite big :) )

several players on my server, myself included, are using the soartex pack that came with FTB Lite in the launcher for 1.4.7, and we noticed that after activating it, several sounds have stopped playing. Off the top of my head, I can think of the Electric Jetpack, Macerator, Compressor, Extractor...probably most IC machines come to think of it.

does anyone have a solution / any information on this? again, i apologize if this is repetitive, feel free to send me to a previous post

So I've got a question Nd I don't know if anyone has asked this yet but if someone has please point me in that direction. Are the high voltage solar panels in ftb lite suppose to looke like white blocks with a black line on the right of the texture? I've run the patcher but that didn't fix that so I've come here to ask.

You're right... I should make some more templates for the six other ores. I'll get to those ASAP.

@Sab0t: Sounds have stopped working? That's definitely a new one to me. My best guess is sounds were unloaded from memory to free up space to run the game? Either that or a bug in the affected mods.

@Solomon Aiel: They aren't supposed to look like that. Any chance for a screenshot?

here you go this is what it looks like and in the mini map mod it just shows up as a pink line. I just though to mention this but I'm running windows 8 could that have anything to do with it?

edit: made it hidden so it wouldn't take up as much room. Finally figured out how to do that.

thank you for the tip! I'll tinker with some settings and see if they come back. anything interesting and i'll post my results.

and it turns out IC2 sounds were disabled in the .CFG...I think I thought it was related to the texturepack because in a different local instance of MC w/ IC2 I had, sounds were working, but when I installed this texturepack was also when I started playing exclusively on our FTB server, so I guess I thought this was at fault. I feel dumb now...
