Well it updated but now i'm getting an error trying to "extract the zip"..
"invalid distance code - Error unzipping modpack!!!"

edit:
i found the zip and unzipped myself. here is the problem:

Just so we don't all keep bothering the same person-- FTB team is now aware of the bug with the corrupt zip and is addressing it, but there is no ETA to report at this time.

2.12.1.1 is listed now, but it says "error while downloading modpack" before downloading. probably caught them mid upload, who knows.

edit: ah, downloading now. could this be it? COULD IT? :)

double edit: tile.water error when joining server.

Yesterday the error occurred after download modpack "invalid distance code - Error unzipping modpack !!!" if the error is already happening before downloading "" error while downloading modpack "is likely to are actually correcting.

Now is that the server is running? in a previous post I commented that the world was corrupted, strange that now I can no longer open the world by Dynamic Map. The last time I managed to open the show was on 08-27

dynamap seems to work for me

the server says it's running 2.12.1 so maybe it needs 2.12.1.1 too. i didn't think there was anything but the need for a non-corrupted zip file but FTB says 1.1 so i guess its more than that.

I've managed to get into Thaumcraft. I've searched around for things to scan, set up a research table, and solved a few research notes.

The recipe for nitor calls for glowstone. Is there a way to get glowstone or is there a replacement recipe? How should I go about figuring this out?

in NEI you should be able to click the arrow to the right to see the non-vanilla recipe. Last time, it was a gold lantern that was the catalyst--and the aspect portion of the recipe was a little different too. 5 feathers and 5 coal did it for me. i don't think he changed this.

ya know maybe it's just me but i'm seeing weird world-gen issues in single player for instance there is an island south of me right now that is very much cut across a straight line from the ocean with hills just cut off.

when i look at the dynamap of the server right now i see similar unnatural lines cut, but not as extreme as what i see in SP yet.

temporary workaround for the tile.water error when joining server:eek:n my client i have disabled opis mod an liteloader mod, and enabled jurneymap mod, now i can connect to server.

hah ok that let me get on but world-gen is clearly jacked up. i walked north from spawn for about 30 seconds before discovering a chasm of unreal proportions that never ended. Also many areas of "straight line cutoffs"...

I managed to get into the server doing what jessop recommended withdrew the opis mods and liteload, but when trying to make any recipe of stone tools the server was down.

I performed some tests and managed to solve the problem by downloading the current version of TFC 0.79.22.761 and changing the version of modpack 0.79.22.784

It is very important to note that this mod pack currently does not contain an official version of TFC. The mod pack author has compiled from github using a newer commit that is highly unstable and will crash your game and may even corrupt your world save. It is always important to make sure that a mod pack you download is containing the same version that you can get on the official TFC website. Any other copy has not been properly tested or finalized, and is very likely unstable.

When I was going to try this pack out, trying to make a stone axe head instantly crashes the game. I can open the GUI, and click to knap it into the proper shape, but when I go to click on the finished problem, Minecraft force-closes.

Actually it's really frustrating:(,i tried to update to 2.12.1.1 and the World Gen is definitely broken (straight lines separating biomes,ocean chunks everywhere and so on),after that i tried to roll back to 2.12.0 and now each time me and a friend try to create a world on SP it instantly crashes because of Thaumcraft world gen(i played before on 2.12.0 and it didn't happen)
Now i can't even play the modpack,what is happening?:mad:

with such a huge undertaking of trying to get so many mods to work together in one world, a TFC world at that... it is understandable that one un-paid dude takes some time to get it fixed--everybody take a deep breath and thank Dex for making the thing we love in the first place and give him some time to fix it! :)

I have to agree with podank on this, jokes aside, while it would be nice to have everything work on one try its easy to understand why this will take time. Its also well worth the wait in my opinion, even if it takes a couple weeks as i personally consider this the best pack and server i have played since i owned my own a year ago.
Also, if you want some help with testing dex i follow the changes and releases on jenkins and update myself well before ftb releases (also alot faster for your internet to submit one file than a whole pack and wait, ik you waste a good amount of time on that), i sent you a pm on the darkserver forums if you want to chat, i personally post (such as my unofficial fixes and discussions) and follow there more than the ftb forums

Well said, Bear. I must agree: best pack and server I've played on, hands down. I wish I could offer more help than play-testing. But since I can't, I will be patient and join the server again when it is available.

Well it seems that there is a 2.12.2 update for the server and* clients so update now and hopefully dex will set the "white list" settings straight :D:p
