Is there any way to counter that? I know with "vanilla" Botania you can use pasture seeds, but it didn't seem to work. I could have been trying to apply them wrong, though.
Overgrowth Seed, not Pasture Seed. And that's in a slightly newer version of Botania.

Ah. I got those confused. It makes more sense though, as pasture seeds are so easy to make even with plain Botania.

@thephoenixlodge Fantastic job on the mod pack. I'm enjoying it a lot.

Started my own server, everything loads fine but is there a special world file or map to use? The map that generated when I ran the server is only islands as far as I can tell while the last server I played on had a giant, mostly flat land mass. Maybe some server properties I should have set before running?

"Finally" progressed to a point where I've got the Vat and Crucible Furnace going (Repeatable quest? Can't be that important...Oh wait, that's how I get my metal seeds. On the plus side I have all these other seeds I mutated and will probably never use, aside from the Mystical Flower seeds, and several seeds I will use at or near 10/10/10 ). Ran into a seeming issue, and a thing I'd like tweaked if possible. Pack Version 0.82

Issue(?): If you put multiple bricks in the vat, and just enough lava to turn them all into burnt bricks, if you try to take them out while the vat has no lava, you get one and the rest turn back into regular bricks, wasting lava. Having never used Mariculture, I have no idea if this is a bug or intended behavior.

Thing I'd like tweaked: The vat and the Crucible Furnace require an iron-level pickaxe, but are needed to get one. This is especially annoying with the crucible furnace, which you need both blocks one on top of the other. If you miss one, you either have to make another (and they're not exactly resource-cheap, especially given how annoying sand and therefore clay is to get at that point), or cheat in a temporary tool to fix things. I'd like these two blocks tweaked to be flint-level if possible. Or make them wrenchable. Or anything to make it possible to move them before you have your smeltery set up.

Also, what is it with ender zoo and cats? I thought the Wither Witch's kitty was bad enough, but that skeleton cat seems just as fast and hard hitting, and is much smaller. One of them caused me more deaths in a few minutes than I'd care to count, between the first kill and trying to get back into my underground base. Not saying it needs fixing or changing or anything, just...wow. I think they may be the first mob I've encountered that I actually fear.

You just got lucky and spawned in an ocean biome. It uses normal world gen but the only valid biomes are Wasteland, Mountainous Wasteland, and anything with the OCEAN tag.

I... I must be missing something. I can't figure out how to make a crafting table. NEI says two planks and two slabs, but I need a crafting table to make slabs.

Please tell me my lack of sleep it making me miss something obvious.

Thank you for relieving me from my suffering.
I might want to add that in Regrowth, you'll learn to appreciate using the top 2 arrows in NEI, which allow you to switch between different crafting mechanics (shaped/shapeless/rolling machine/runic altar/etc...)

Anyone else having issues getting a 8.2 server running? I can get it to work using the 8.1 configs but would rather not use that as a workaround if possible.

Howdy. If you look back some pages, you'll see some folks having similar issues. I would suggest making a backup of your HQM save data and then deleting the HQM save data from the directory. Then start the server. Make sure to give yourself OP mode. Then use the command /hqm edit If it comes back with something along the lines of "Hardcore Questing mode not activated, please run /hqm start" or something similar, do /hqm start, then /hqm edit. Once you enter /hqm edit you'll receive an OP questbook. You'll have to get back to where you were, but you can shift or control-click (can't remember EXACTLY which one) to complete the quest.

A little note: I would suggest flipping your NEI over to "utility mode" for this. As you could be getting a VERY LARGE amount of items if you're pretty along in the quests. Then when your inventory is full of the crap, use the NEI delete mode to decrapify. Just be very careful not to accidentally delete something important. *^_^*

Introduction:

Let me introduce you all to the modpack I've been working on - Regrowth.
It's a HQM driven pack where you find yourself in a desolate wasteland, lacking in natural growth and sparse of materials except for a few boulders and dead, charred trees. You'll quickly discover the depths of the earth to be barren as well, devoid of any form of ore. You will need to find a way to start restoring the presence of nature back to the world, and in doing so find yourself a way to start producing the materials you'll need to produce a thriving industry.

The pack is heavily adjusted to be a more cohesive experience through the usage of minetweaker and modtweaker, with just over 1000 lines of scripts at the time of writing this.
A large part of the idea behind the pack came from a couple of "what if?"s. Specifically, the pack was designed to be without ore, but while still having a world to work with. The other was to do so without the use of something like Ex Nihilo, finding a way to unlock access to resources for the player with the standard mods that exist in the pack.

Regrowth is now on the FTB launcher as a listed Third Party pack!!!

I have an issue with the steam boilers from railcraft. I placed them to use them to run a steam engine for a water pump. The entire 5 chunks around the formed item cause any and all players near it to crash. players can not play after logging in. What is this?

I've had no such issue. Can you post a screenshot?
I guess everything is as it should be from a hawthorn -> purity, alder -> misfortune.
Its just if you look at what you can make from an Alder sapling in NEI, it shows odour of purity instead of reek of misfortune. If you look at what makes reek of misfortune it does show the Alder. So I think its just that one value is off. Screen Shot 2015-10-10 at 11.21.49 AM.png

The vat and the Crucible Furnace require an iron-level pickaxe, but are needed to get one. This is especially annoying with the crucible furnace, which you need both blocks one on top of the other. If you miss one, you either have to make another (and they're not exactly resource-cheap, especially given how annoying sand and therefore clay is to get at that point), or cheat in a temporary tool to fix things.

I had the same issue the first time I played, not knowing that the crucible furnace had to be placed on top of each other. With time I learned that to get tools to break it you don't need the crucible. All you need are Mana Tools (pickaxe, axe, ...) (see Lexica botanica or NEI for recipes)

Edit: Remember to have a mana containing item, i.e. mana tablet, in your inventory to prevent damageing your mana tools

This is also the case with JABBA Barrels needing a copper level axe. Manasteel isn't the only way around this though. Netherrack has copper level mining (but doesn't have as much durablity as flint) while I beleive obsidian can handle iron level. (I actually had my smeltry up by the time i wanted to move my crucible furnace.)
