You should at least be able to figure out how to breathe properly, jeez! Honestly, I swear half of you are mouth breathers, running around with view bobbing enabled...

This is sarcasm, or at least something that's supposed to be sarcasm. I'm not sure what causes half my crashes tbh. Especially the ones that don't give me a crash-log :(
I'm not a mouth-breather but I do have view-bobbing on. :)

Here's the conventional wisdom that how grown among my friends on I on my server. If you disconnect from the server or quit back to the main menu in single player then you should quit completely out of Minecraft and restart from the FTB Launcher. this seems to prevent the NEI crash, mostly. That's not to say we actually know one thing about what we're doing, but we've convinced ourselves it works. Oh, and never kill creepers. They are sacred and belong to the ender minis.

They won't belong to the ender-minis in 0.8...

You need creeper essence for the creeper heart to make creeper seeds....

Oh wait...

That said once you got your first creeper heart, more is no problem. (In fact after I got my first, the next 10 creepers all decided to drop hearts... after i'd probibly killed at least 100 for the first.
I killed at least a hundred! Lots of nether quartz on a tinkers broadsword made fast work of them, however.

Are the ender-minis coming out? I certainly won't mind not hearing constant explosions and it'll be easier to find creepers when it comes time to harvest that creeper heart.

Looking at the changelog, the ender-minis will still be there, they just won't aggro on creepers. They will, however, aggro on the player if looked at.

Psst, creeper essence.
Creeper heart comes before creeper essence which comes before creeper seeds. At least that's the way I remember it.

EDIT: What I'm not saying well is that the quest book requires a creeper heart to get your first essence which is part of the recipe for creeper seeds.

@thephoenixlodge How did you design the quests for this pack? The amount of interdependencies is pretty huge. The number of gating items that you've used to ensure that people are walking through many different quest branches would be very difficult to keep up with. Did you lay it out or did it just happen organically as you tried things out and made changes?

I'm just letting you know that you can make the Witchery creeper heart from the Magical Crops creeper essence if you weren't already aware. You can also make necrotic bones out of wither essence.

That's scary because they are tough little guys.

You ain't whistlin' Dixie there. O_O I made the mistake of trying to take one down on a whim. Retreated to the ocean because it was the only place that was safe.

You can, as I found to my chagrin, get your only required creeper heart through the treefyd seed quest.

Somewhat organically, but there tends to be a rough plan thought out, so there is a method to my madness.

And that is why I almost always stick the quest rewards of this type (essence, mob drops, etc.) in storage for a while after getting them. It seems they're often used further down the quest chain.

I had been delaying the treefyd quest because I knew it opened up Thaumcraft, and I was 'busy' playing with all the mods I wasn't as familiar with. I have a special chest that I keep rewards in, juuuust in case.

Good! I will look that up. I'm on a second play-through since my friends and I started server-play.

I have started this as well! Also, for new players - any plain sand you see - save it up! Keep 32 for later. This is why I asked phoenixlodge about his process for designing the quests because there are so many early rewards that are inputs for later quests.

EDIT: I will endeavor to start using multi-quote but I'm reacting at the moment as I'm reading. Don't mean to flood the thread.

So I have a problem I've never run into before -- my Silverwood sapling isn't growing. There's nothing above it. It's on grass. It won't take bonemeal or magic fertilizer (which at least is probably normal but this pack changes stuff so I tried it anyway.) There's a fair amount of room around it. Any ideas? In previous games, I've just planted them and they grew, no trouble, but I almost always settle in Plains or Meadows.
