Sorry, but mapping is one thing I'm not budging on with this pack. The intention is to use the bibliocraft mapping, or none at all.
Part of the design of the pack is breaking crutches. It's the reason why there is no minimap, no Extra utils, Open Blocks, Thermal Expansion, MFR or Iron Chests. There is so much reliance on them, that people often won't look at other ways of doing things, hence I've taken them away, so that players will consider what other ways there are to do things.

If you can find any commonly used pack that has Antique atlas is it I might agree with you. But as it stands there is not.
Break all the crutches you want but you should also promote the mods that are underutilized. And Antique atlas certainly counts.
There are a number of packs that it is most suitable for. But no one seemes to be willing to give it the chance it deserves.

But even if you don't the point is that we need a map, any sort of map, to use right at the beginning of the world. Starting the game with the bibliocraft atlas and a stack of maps is one of the options but seems off to have any quantity of items. Not in this barren wasteland of a world.
A single Antique atlas simply fits the world far better than bibliocraft would.

Hey now, I happen to enjoy my Iron chests... the drawers are nice and all, but they're a pita and I cannot, say, put all of my processed metal into just one. I get the 'breaking the crutches' approach, but as far as I'm aware, there's no viable alternatives. Vanilla chests are boring~ I have seen the one mod where you can essentially customize the chest that you make with the mod (BetterChests? I don't recall the name off the top of my head) that you could potentially look into using, and it's not one of the crutch mods, as you've labeled it.

That said, your pack does accomplish thus far what you've set out to do, and it's gotten me really looking forward to when it hits v 1.0.0. Quests are well written, things are mostly tiered well to keep you moving along, and it's an enjoyable modpack all around.

You could always use the breadcrumb approach, laying out a block every so often or laying a torch trail to find your way home. I mean that's what I did and it really doesn't take long to get paper up and going to make bibliocraft maps really. I mean by the end of day three I think I had enough paper to make a nice big map of the area.

You can install a map mod if you want, that's the beauty of Modded Minecraft. But doing so will not keep with the vision of the pack maker. I for one am enjoying the challenge of keeping track of where I am going and not just galavanting about. Sun rises in one direction sets in the other, pretty easy to keep your orientation. Landmarks are there, especially if you make a three high pillar of some block every 100 or so blocks traveled.

Is there a way to get more Deadwood "Logs" other then taking apart the whole world's amount of deadwood trees? I wanted to build a Deadwood Tree, and i mean BUILD, but its quite difficult considering that not even 1 big deadwood tree gives enough planks to make into more then 3 or so logs...

Unfortunately no sorry, though I could probably tweak the log recipe to a few less planks now that isn't the crafting table recipe

Theres not 2x2 for the 'planks' why not that?
part of the crafting table recipe change was to stop the first tools being made with the tinkers tables. If I make the log craftable in the 2x2 it'll make it possible to make the part builder without the crafting table

I was gonna say that it would slow people down by like 1 step but then now that I think about it... But, No not really, sure you wouldn't need to make anything past the Axe Head considering that you need it to make a crafting bench first, but after that it would require you to still make more patterns for the Spade and Pick and such considering that the only things you have to start off with is literally Twigs and Flint...
There isn't anything more you can really make with what you have as options from the start. Now really thinking about it, there isn't any loss if you make the log a 2x2 unless you can show otherwise. I can't think of any at the moment...

Were you meant to give us a creative mana tablet or just a full one as part of the Meddling With Mana Quest as you have given us a creative one

Okay - I think I'm stuck. I'm trying to make Experience Seeds, which need essence of the cow or essence of the magama. However, I can't see how to make either of these. I have cows (from the spawn cow eggs), but is there a way to get the essence directly from there?

Don't know where you're getting that from. Exp seeds need an Essence Seed, 4 Strong Essence, 1 summer rune, 1 mana rune and 2 Bottle o' Experience
