Been really enjoying this modpack so far, waited till 1.03 to start out. I have a few questions/issues:

1) Tools, tinker and vanilla, sometimes disappear and are not on corpse when I retrieve it. Is this a bug or by design?
I second #1 - Usually I lose my iron sword (but not always) and I almost always lose my Atlas which is a real pain because when I hack in another one I have to start mapping all over again. I though it may be by design.
The above issues are indeed a bug within The Erebus, and will be fixed in the next version of the mod. In the meantime, cheat back in what you've lost.

Time to start compiling a 1.0.4 version :D

How do you get the Night to be so dark? I tried looking for the mod responsible, but I wasn't able to pinpoint it. (I would like to have the same in my private modded MC.)

It's RandomThings mod. Plus I believe that the mod author has now even split that feature (and others) into separate mini-mods.
Really adds to the atmosphere.

over 36 attempts and no launch? Doesn't seem likely.
Have you got a log file?

Fix for Mod Cycling Error:
Delete Snowfall mod from mods folder
Delete RedGearCore mod from 1.7.10 folder within mods folder

Snowfall included for effect only in snowy biomes. Not a vital mod.

I have several but I can't open them as they are in gzip file type and they don't work properly for me and okay it was actually 10 but it felt like a lot more or at least I have 10 logs

What is the "Lump of Rock" for?
A few uses during flint age (aka your first tools during normal progression), can be crafted into cobblestone (which you can't get from mining stone with flint tools), and also for campfires (coal free way of crafting light/heat sources).
NEI will show you all the uses.

After playing Omega Dawn for 3 days I must say that this pack is really freaking hard....
Really? It should be harder, but not insane.
What parts are hard. I am trying to get a nice balance of risk/challenge vs reward.

It might be that you are trying to go too fast at the start. First few days are basically getting a small secure home setup and farms, with perhaps the occasional bit of easy to reach mining.

Looking into a big update to this pack for any users who are interested. As usual, things have broken as a result of mod updates and other mods not updating. Almost half the mod files have been updated so far.

Currently I've had to drop Minechem due to not being compatible with latest Forge, added a few mods, looking into changing a mod for another mod. Also looking into making some existing aspects a bit more "involved" and need to revise some minetweaker recipes due to mod "breakages" which affects one of the core aspects when playing with tech mods (circuits...)

A buddy and I just played this pack for the first time last night, and we're having a great time so far. (Although we did disable both temperature and sanity in Enviromine - temp is so difficult to manage that it might as well be random, and sanity is so easy to restore that it's just busywork.)

A request for future versions: would you consider adding the Waila Harvestability mod? When mining levels are a factor in a pack, it's just a pain in the butt not being able to tell what level of tool we need to be shooting for.

Thanks for making this pack. We're looking forward to updates!

Can you provide a bit more info on your Temperature and Sanity experiences?

Early game temperature is a pain to manage early game, especially if you are an a hot or cold biome. Your first night you might get frostbite, at least until you get some form of heating. Torches provide a little bit of heat (I reduced the heat they produce, as I found it was too easy to get heatstroke indoors in a house lit by torches) and camp fires provide a greater amount of heat.

Both Temperature and Sanity are supposed to be things that can affect you, but things you can "ignore" for a while to get on with building/exploring, just like hunger. It's just a case of getting the balance right between annoyance and enjoyable.
