A friend and I are going to try this modpack with a server and stuff... Could you provide some server building help?

There are some generic instructions around to build a server out of any modpack, however i have problems with the fact that ftb doesnt have a forge.jar in the folder and... i get lost.

Could you provide some server building help?

EDIT:(By looking at all the posts i was able to find some instructions about using DW20's server download to create the Omega Dawn server... will be trying)

Hi

That's how I've built a server version previously, take the DW20 server version, delete the mods, configs and scripts, and replace with OD version.

I need to make available some config and script updates (totally optional). Just minor things/annoyances/balances that I've encountered in my playthrough.

0.5x ore proccesing? lol? i dont.. just... what even IS that? like, you get HALF the ore? why would anybody want that :P

That's your surface scavenging era, used only if really desperate, as you can't mine stone with the first tier tools. But luckily, there tends to be plenty of cobblestone around that you can mine, or make cobblestone from pieces of cracked stone.
One advantage of 0.5 ore processing is that's it's fuel free. Uses crude tools instead.

thats neat.

so how come a tinkers tool shows zero tooltips on hover? shift/control do not work. I checked iguanas config and didn't see anything odd or out of place and wondering if this was by design for some reason.

Edit: also wondering about the water bottles. getting water from the ocean sometimes yields bottled water, salty water and sometimes it gives me salty water and after about a second the bottle empties on it's own volition. The last bit seems to happen only with inland water sources iirc.

Good question, I must have disabled it somewhere. I do dislike massive tooltips in minecraft.

As to the water bottle, that must be an Enviromine issue. Must admit, never encountered that issue, as I've never needed to use water bottles.

how do you keep hydrated then? I know from other packs that you can drink from water sources such as a well in a village, dunno if it's biome specific or not. tried to make one on my beach starter area but to no avail. trying not to die at night and not to starve so on my 4th or 5th death.

As far as tooltips go, probably when u turned off the leveling in iguanas, it disabled the tooltips.

Get a bucket, grab a water source, place it somewhere not ocean or beach biome. It'll be fresh water. You can then right click with an empty hand and drink that way. Then you only have to worry about water on long journeys.
Before a bucket (aka game start), find an inland lake/river and setup a starting base there. Enough to get food supplies growing, avoid mining/combat where possible until you have fresh water and a source of food. If you try to do too much at the start, you'll suffer.
One of my game worlds had my starting base on the edge of a river in a tagia biome. My first night was spent in a dirt hut, no light, with frostbite. Managed to survive (just). I don't think I managed to get a torch until my 3rd day!
