i actually canned SoL and HO because i had a love/hate relationship with them on crash landing, once you had 3 or 4 high-intake items it really didnt make a difference, and if you were careful enough (unlike my brother) and dont go jumping and running everywhere, i do agree with @Pyure 's post from the forums, that they arnt really a mod for tech packs imo - but i also agree with @Jason McRay, if youre playing alone disable it to save you the stress or at least attenuate it slightly.
I'd love to muck about on the dev server and help test, but sadly ive not got all the experience Groveham is asking for.
And @Jason McRay - not just the Dark Pick ... try the sword too, thats diamond grade at least
The thaumcraft fix worked, gracias dude.
Hmmmm. Have you sent me a message before? If you have send me a new one and we'll take about getting you on the server. Your an active member of the community and it'd be good to see you on there and taking part
Top tip: go to a desert at night and get a little bit of a base/hit set up, I have 1 block high walls with a door and then a ceiling at2 blocks high so I can hit endermen but they can't get me but I can kill them and endermen spawn rates are higher in deserts because it doesn't rain there

Few more known issues:
If you are crashing whilst looking at recipes in NEI with following crash: http://pastebin.com/sQiEJNxf - Update NEI plugins to 1.1.0.11 (thread link)
If you are crashing with http://pastebin.com/QdLxqddv whilst using Search Tab in creative inventory - Be patient for v1.1.6 of the modpack, its fixed in there.
Yep, I made myself The Ender from those Dark Steel ingots I found with the pick. I think its bit better than diamond... at least durability wise... because its basicaly made from Obsidian.
edit: What I love about The Ender Sword is that the ender pearl drop rate from Endermans is much higher ALthough I bit struggle finding any Seems like they are scared of me
Same experience for me/us. We didn't start getting decent Ender Pearls until we made a mob spawner/trap with a 21/22-block drop. 21-block will let you whack their feet for XP. 22 will kill most mobs. You can also use conveyer belts and "encourage" them to get cozy with a spike.

I haven't actually messaged you before about it, i actually only read the requirements you'd posted on being a tester the other night and im unsure just how much of it id actually be capable of meeting without tutoring. lol

Willing to test - I guess thats not a problem and you will
Must be trust worthy - That's something you need to know, but probably you are
Must have relevant IT/Minecraft modding knowledge, eg how to manually update a mod within the modpack. - This should not be big deal, and if so, I am sure that anyone will be able to help you with that
Must not be a Minecraft or Modded Minecraft noob. - If you were, then probably you would not play InfiTech
Must have a passion for GregTech - Same as above
I really dont see these requirements to be harsh at all
Yea it looks enormous when you view it like that... Yesterday i managed to find 2 veins of Copper next to 2 veins of Tin, spent like 2hrs just mining it and running back home, to restock my food

Seriously share your seed!!! I'd love to get this for my single player world sounds like a very good map!! Although I tend teleport a lot but if it's a good map id be tempted not to

OK, did some testing with my configs. Below are the raw results. I need to make a Google spreadsheet to be cool/helpful, since not everyone will use either Apple Oak w/Apples (noob) or Mahoe (High Sappiness) w/Grapefruit (geek like me).
=== Juice Squeezing ===
GT Basic Fluid Extractor uses 1.72k EU / bucket of juice for Grapefruit
GT Basic Fluid Extractor uses 4.29k EU / bucket of juice for Apples
Forestry Squeezer uses 4.56k MJ = 11.4k EU / bucket of juice for Apples Winner : GT Basic Fluid Extractor
=== Fermentation ===
Forestry Fermenter w/Apple Oak saplings and juice and mulch = 72k RF / bucket of biomass
= 7.2k MJ / bucket of biomass * (10 buckets biomass / 3 buckets biofuel)
= 24 k MJ / bucket of ethanol
= 60 k EU / bucket of ethanol
used 2.88 buckets of juice for 3 buckets of biomass
2.88 / 3 = 0.96 juice / biomass
3.2 buckets of juice / bucket of ethanol
= 13.73k EU / bucket of ethanol to make juice via GT Basic FE using Apples
Forestry Fermenter w/Mahoe saplings and juice and mulch = 12k RF / bucket of biomass
= 1.2k MJ / bucket of biomass * (10 buckets biomass / 3 buckets biofuel)
= 4 k MJ / bucket of ethanol
= 10 k EU / bucket of ethanol
used 1.488 buckets of juice for 9.432 buckets of biomass
1.488 / 9.432 = 0.15776 juice / biomass
0.526 buckets of juice / bucket of ethanol
= 0.9k EU / bucket of ethanol to make juice via GT Basic FE using Grapefruits
=== Distillation ===
GT Basic Distillery (32 EU/t) uses 35k EU to make 1 bucket of Ethanol
GT Advanced Distillery II (512 EU/t) uses 130k EU to make 1 bucket of Ethanol !
Forestry Still 913,188 RF / 3 buckets : 304k RF / bucket = 30.4k MJ / bucket = 76k EU/bucket Winner : GT Basic Distillery
=== System Totals ===
System Total using Apple Oak Saplings and Apple Juice
GT Basic FE : (3.2 buckets of juice / bucket of Ethanol) * (4.29k EU / bucket of juice)
= 13.73k EU / bucket of Ethanol
Forestry Fermenter : 60k EU / bucket of Ethanol
GT Basic Distillery : 35k EU
Total : 13.73k + 60k + 35k = 108k EU / bucket
When fed to an RC Boiler that's kept at full temp (1000c) constantly, the gain is:
330k / 108k = 3x Multiplier Gain
330k - 108k = 222k EU / bucket Gain
System Total using Mahoe Saplings and Grapefruit
GT Basic FE : (0.526 buckets of juice / bucket of Ethanol) * (1.72k EU / bucket of juice)
= 0.9k EU / bucket of Ethanol
Forestry Fermenter : 10k EU / bucket of Ethanol
GT Basic Distillery : 35k EU
Total : 0.9k + 10k + 35k = 46k EU / bucket
When fed to an RC Boiler that's kept at full temp (1000c) constantly, the gain is:
330k / 46k = 7x Multiplier Gain
330k - 46k = 284k EU / bucket Gain
Conclusions:
Always use juice or honey for the 1.5x multiplier.
Use RC Boiler to make steam
Use RC Steam Turbine to make EU from steam
Use GT Basic Fluid Extractor
Use GT Basic Distillery
Use better saplings and better fruit
The GT Basic Distillery is the power hog, and I don't know of a more efficient way*
...did *not* work as expected. So, I don't recommend this change. It affected only the apple. It did not boost the Grapefruit. Nevertheless, it doesn't matter. Even with the best sapling breeding and the best fruit, the GT Basic Distillery dominates the power consumption equation.
I will submit a Pull Request on GitHub for the fermenter yield. I don't think the Ethanol multiplier is needed.
Quick question... Have you tested this just with forestry farm? I'd be interest to see if this works with enderIO tree farms powered by ethanol>steam boiler>steam>BR turbine>EnderIO tree farm.... Possibly might be more energy efficient doing it like that but then again it's just an idea while I'm sat bored at work
I tested using golem farms, which are "free", energy-wise
I have 2 chop golems, 1 plant 'Use' golem, and 2 eIO Vacuum Chests.
Indeed, if one were to use a Forestry farm to make saplings and wood, that would add a further energy drain to the system. I'm assuming the eIO farms are more efficient than Forestry HARD mode farms.
Hi guys. I just discovered this pack last night so I don't have much time in. I'm using v1.1.5 and no vanilla mobs seem to be spawning. Not in caves or chasms. Not on the surface at night. I usually play on Hard, but switched to Normal to see if it made a difference. None I could see. I'm tempted to remove Project Zulu to see if that fixes the spawn problem. There are loads of PZ birds flying around the place.

Well I hope your enjoying the pack so far!!! It's brilliant the way @jason_mcray has fine tuned it!!
Strange that your not seeing any mobs, are there any friendly mobs eg sheep or cows? Try creating a creative world and make it a flat world. Then set it to night in NEI and see what spawns then...
I did find a few sheep but haven't explored too much. Been establishing a farm and preliminary mining cave and just realized after the first night I have not seen any hostile mobs spawning and I didn't figure out how to make charcoal for torches for about an in game week.
