Pneumaticraft ... *cringes*
youre bringing back bad memories of crash landing...:p

Ive also been disabling inventory tweaks, dont get me wrong its hugely helpful, but now the only place i get lag is right in the middle of my coking plant ...

Inv. tweaks was giving you lag? I should try disabling that.

PneumaticCraft is fun to set up automation for. Curious if I'll ever find a good use for it. I have this wonderful picture in my head of drones replacing pipes in the workshops, but it never pans out.

It lags slightly for me when I shift+click craft a bunch of stuff in most crafting interfaces/surfaces, but I love using it. It keeps my inventory and chests organized.

To avoid the lag, I use the Forestry Crafting Table (the green crafting table that has an inventory and memory of last 8 things crafted). Not exactly sure why it doesn't lag in there, but I'm guessing it's because the inventory in that crafting table is *not* InvTweak'd and all items crafted must come from that inventory (not the player's inventory).[DOUBLEPOST=1412620158][/DOUBLEPOST]

The eIO item conduits rock. When combined with the eIO fluid and energy conduits, it makes for very compact builds. I'm feeding everything into the Fermenter from the bottom and pulling the biomass from the back. End result : you can't see any wires/cables ! You can also pull items and push items at the same time, set priorities, round-robin, have different channels/colors (16, I think), and use item filters. It reminds me a little bit of logistics pipes, but much more compact.

Pfft, pipes. I want little drones flying around moving shit man. You know what's even more compact than 3 pipes in one block? Zero pipes. That's what.

i wouldnt even know where to start ... lol

Edit: id just like to state for the record, that BOP annoys me ... generated a new world for laughs and now minecraft is obsessed with mushroom islands, is there a way to disable its biome generator without breaking the scripts?

Yep you should be fine. Just edit the BoP config (biomegen.cfg)

Config editing should be totally without any problems (other than possible balance). Only problem comes, when you disable/remove blocks/items from game via config, or disabling the mod completely

I thought I just had a bad seed. My world has mushroom "island" in a swath from just east of my base over to the south-west and hundreds of blocks wide. Highly annoying.

Nope, i created a world - if id kept the journeymap and taken a screen of it, you would of seen 3 supermassive mushroom islands totaling about 1/3 of the area that id mapped in creative mode - ive elected to break one of my usual rules on survival and ill fly around in creative mode for about 500 blocks in all directions to generate biomes so i dont get stopsies at bad times :p

OK, did some testing with my configs. Below are the raw results. I need to make a Google spreadsheet to be cool/helpful, since not everyone will use either Apple Oak w/Apples (noob) or Mahoe (High Sappiness) w/Grapefruit (geek like me).
=== Power Production ===
GT Steel Boiler : 48k EU/bucket
Forestry Biofuel Generator : 128k EU/bucket
GT Basic Diesel Generator : 103k EU/bucket
RC 36 HP boiler @ 1000C : 330k EU/bucket*

Winner : RC Boiler

(*see Conclusion 3 below)

=== Juice Squeezing ===
GT Basic Fluid Extractor uses 1.72k EU / bucket of juice for Grapefruit
GT Basic Fluid Extractor uses 4.29k EU / bucket of juice for Apples
Forestry Squeezer uses 4.56k MJ = 11.4k EU / bucket of juice for Apples

Winner : GT Basic Fluid Extractor

=== Fermentation ===
Forestry Fermenter w/Apple Oak saplings and juice and mulch = 72k RF / bucket of biomass
= 7.2k MJ / bucket of biomass * (10 buckets biomass / 3 buckets biofuel)
= 24 k MJ / bucket of ethanol
= 60 k EU / bucket of ethanol
used 2.88 buckets of juice for 3 buckets of biomass
2.88 / 3 = 0.96 juice / biomass
3.2 buckets of juice / bucket of ethanol
= 13.73k EU / bucket of ethanol to make juice via GT Basic FE using Apples

Forestry Fermenter w/Mahoe saplings and juice and mulch = 12k RF / bucket of biomass
= 1.2k MJ / bucket of biomass * (10 buckets biomass / 3 buckets biofuel)
= 4 k MJ / bucket of ethanol
= 10 k EU / bucket of ethanol
used 1.488 buckets of juice for 9.432 buckets of biomass
1.488 / 9.432 = 0.15776 juice / biomass
0.526 buckets of juice / bucket of ethanol
= 0.9k EU / bucket of ethanol to make juice via GT Basic FE using Grapefruits

=== Distillation ===
GT Basic Distillery (32 EU/t) uses 35k EU to make 1 bucket of Ethanol
GT Advanced Distillery II (512 EU/t) uses 130k EU to make 1 bucket of Ethanol !
Forestry Still 913,188 RF / 3 buckets : 304k RF / bucket = 30.4k MJ / bucket = 76k EU/bucket

Winner : GT Basic Distillery

=== System Totals ===
System Total using Apple Oak Saplings and Apple Juice
GT Basic FE : (3.2 buckets of juice / bucket of Ethanol) * (4.29k EU / bucket of juice)
= 13.73k EU / bucket of Ethanol

Forestry Fermenter : 60k EU / bucket of Ethanol
GT Basic Distillery : 35k EU
Total : 13.73k + 60k + 35k = 108k EU / bucket

When fed to an RC Boiler that's kept at full temp (1000c) constantly, the gain is:
330k / 108k = 3x Multiplier Gain
330k - 108k = 222k EU / bucket Gain

System Total using Mahoe Saplings and Grapefruit
GT Basic FE : (0.526 buckets of juice / bucket of Ethanol) * (1.72k EU / bucket of juice)
= 0.9k EU / bucket of Ethanol

Forestry Fermenter : 10k EU / bucket of Ethanol
GT Basic Distillery : 35k EU
Total : 0.9k + 10k + 35k = 46k EU / bucket

When fed to an RC Boiler that's kept at full temp (1000c) constantly, the gain is:
330k / 46k = 7x Multiplier Gain
330k - 46k = 284k EU / bucket Gain

Conclusions:
  1. Always use juice or honey for the 1.5x multiplier.
  2. Use RC Boiler to make steam
  3. Use RC Steam Turbine to make EU from steam
  4. Use GT Basic Fluid Extractor
  5. Use GT Basic Distillery
  6. Use better saplings and better fruit
  7. The GT Basic Distillery is the power hog, and I don't know of a more efficient way*
*Say, is there a GT 5 Distillation Tower ?

Here are my config changes I tested with:
minecraft@server:~/Infinity2/config/forestry/gamemodes$ diff Dave_HARD_conf.txt Orig_HARD_conf.txt | grep '='
< fermenter.yield.sapling=100
> fermenter.yield.sapling=50

minecraft@server:~/Infinity2/config/railcraft$ diff Dave_railcraft_cfg.txt Orig_railcraft_cfg.txt | grep '='
< D:biofuelMultiplier=2.0
> D:biofuelMultiplier=1.0
The other change I tested:
minecraft@server:~/Infinity2/config/forestry/gamemodes$ diff Dave_HARD_conf.txt Orig_HARD_conf.txt | grep apple
< squeezer.liquid.apple=400
> squeezer.liquid.apple=200
...did *not* work as expected. So, I don't recommend this change. It affected only the apple. It did not boost the Grapefruit. Nevertheless, it doesn't matter. Even with the best sapling breeding and the best fruit, the GT Basic Distillery dominates the power consumption equation.

I will submit a Pull Request on GitHub for the fermenter yield. I don't think the Ethanol multiplier is needed.

Thats not supposed to happen ...

Edit: I also did some math with the pipes - theoretically, with 20 ticks in a second a small bronze pipe should be able to handle 40mb/t - the same as a waterpoof gold pipe from buildcraft, this is assuming that nothing has changed and what was recorded on the wiki is true (1L = 1mb).

In my experiment i used five simple solar boilers, their total max steam output should be 30mb/t - only 75% of the small bronze fluid pipe capacity, this was not the case however - two of the boilers frequently had to blow off excess steam - after a few mins of generation at full power the pipes began to take steam from boiler #4, but would never reduce its tank below 50% - the tricorder confirmed that the pipes were overburdened.
So i scrapped the small pipes and moved onto the next type, these ones apparently move 2.4 buckets /sec, so basically 120mb/t - after a few seconds all 5 boilers were empty - according to the tricorder all pipes were running full containing 2400 mb of steam, which dosnt make sense unless these pipes are even derpier than the BC fluid pipes.

This would mean one of three things:
  1. Solar boilers DO NOT put out 6mb/t when they cap out their heat.
  2. Solar boilers generate more than the wiki states (unlikely)
  3. Pipe values are incorrect/pipes are just plain badly coded and a restrictor valve needs to be added (something like a BC iron pipe).
