Sometimes I think I should abandon FTB's dark theme and switch to a stylish theme that automatically converts black text to white but that's a lot of work.

Just saying, it's an easy fix. Select the text and change the color to 'none'' at the bottom of the color selector thing.

Maintaining a pack is not easy nor quick. Lots and lots of mod and cross-mod issues. Even for the small server I maintain, it's never easy doing updates. There's always something new/different/unexpected to troubleshoot.

@Jason McRay We mostly updated to your latest version. The only mods we didn't pickup are the food/hunger mods. At this stage in our world, it would be more of a distraction than a fun mechanic. If we start over, we would probably pickup the hunger/food mods.

Amazingly, the world seems more stable and logins are much faster. Not sure which mod (version) was causing our issues before or what cleared it up.

Not me. Hunger/Food was an interesting idea for a GT pack but ultimately detracts from the primary purposes and runs contrary to core mods (specifically: you're encouraged in IC2 to have LESS diversity in your food via canning)

Spice of life is a primary reason I don't play on the dev server as much as I'd like to. I am now geting 3.7% nutrition from cactus fruit juice and my choices are farming or working on electronics.

SpiceOfLife is a very interesting mod, but it is not for every pack. I agree it doesn't fit well in this pack, which is already tech and magic-heavy. Packs should be focused, IMHO, and the hunger/food stuff is a distraction from the core.

I would argue the Magic (resources, tools, weapons/armor) and the Bees (resources) and Trees (power) assist with the primary GT objectives, but the hunger does not.

Where I would *love* to see SpiceOfLife is a full-blown food/hunger/farming/survival pack.

One of the purposes of Infitech is to bring people more together. Playing alone? Well, then go ahead and disable SoL and HO. Playing with bunch of friends? Divide jobs and next day turn them around.

Yes, that's a great and warm thought, Jason. Infitech is indeed a co-op friendly pack.

Unfortunately, none of the players on our server had or have a great interest in food. So, yeah, we turned off SoL and HO. However, @Pyure and I do indeed enjoy our specialties. I tend to enjoy magic, bees, and trees, whereas @Pyure enjoys GT and the tech. stuff more.

We had another player from NZ on our server who was a wizard with Thaumcraft, vanilla MC mechanics like mob farms, AE2, and pretty much everything else. Very sharp guy. However, he hasn't logged on in a few weeks.

As long as someone is keeping GT moving along, Infitech is a great pack for parallel development for sure.

I can imagine the feeling. When I was playing @Jadedcat 's MF2 w/HO, I would do the same when I went on long excursions for bee hives and Thaumcraft nodes. With GT 5 oregen, I now have at least three(3) very good reasons to go on long walkabouts !

These thoughts make me look forward to a world reset, should @Pyure and I ever do one. I would volunteer to be the farmer/chef if @Pyure didn't want to mess with food/crops.

Yesterday i have found nice big vein of Tetra and Cassi... I spent like 2 hrs just making food and stuff to just get to the place, set up a little mining outpost: chest+crafting table and start mining. After few minutes i was running low on food, so i was forced to stop mining and head home, to replenish my supplies (picks and food). It really felt different, because mostly what i was doing before (in other modpacks) was mining, mining, mining, until i ran out of inventory space. And that was the only reason what forced me to stop mining.

edit: Oh and also, DARK PICK from eIO is awesome mining tool Found it with two Dark Steel ingots in village right near spawn

Well I dont even have a single machine from Bronze Age, so... mining laser is bit out of my reach

pro tip: Steves Workshop - Production Table is more efficient for smelting (using as a furnace) than normal furnace (one plank as fuel can smelt 3 items - where in normal funace it smelts 1,5

And you can still group up with someone who will work on the farming bits. Dev server gone bit big because @Grove was bit busy recruiting people

I'd love to muck about on the dev server and help test, but sadly ive not got all the experience Groveham is asking for.

Yep, I made myself The Ender from those Dark Steel ingots I found with the pick. I think its bit better than diamond... at least durability wise... because its basicaly made from Obsidian.

edit: What I love about The Ender Sword is that the ender pearl drop rate from Endermans is much higher ALthough I bit struggle finding any Seems like they are scared of me
