Yup. I disagree with the gating of some of those cores. Especially the alchemy and farming cores. It is a nuisance having to manually slot in/out alchemical jars and farm by hand.

Well the HV components technically are early MV era components because "all" you need is stainless steel really. Its a little misleading, but they aren't as horribly gated as I first thought.

That Use core though... CPU Tier 2 is quite a lot of work and seems to require HV as well as a bunch of pneumatic stuff I'm not familiar with.

This pack is all about patience I think. I'm just chipping away at it and trying to enjoy the little victories.

Aren't they just the standard six plates and four rods each?

A question, has anyone else had any trouble with the Efreet's Flame focus? I can't seem to get it to work, it won't smelt items or even break them. It perpetually channels and that's it, and I didn't *think* it was disabled, since you can craft it. Mod bug maybe? Wanted to see if anyone else had any issues before I reported it

Hey Quick question,

I tried searching the thread but nothing relevant came up.

I was working on Stainless steel today and finally made a Cobalt Drill, but the HQM book doesn't seem to want to give me credit for the "Electrical Tools" quest. The Condition requires Drill (LV) (Empty).

I placed a full lithium battery in there... Is it going to complete when it runs out of charge or...? Just wondering if anyone had encountered this.

oh no i didnt mean to change the server to open public. i was just shocked it wasnt. i prefer the in game talking to get information about modpacks. where i or others could be shown how it can work. someone mentioned that its easy to grief if its not whitelisted and people are selected. i do not wish to impose to change your ways, server ways. i was just trying to inform on protection mods and things that should be used even in the case of whitelisted servers. who knows how someone would act in game after they got accepted.
I have been playing on the Official Public Server for about a year, and I have been the administrator for about 9 months. I understand the confusion... how can it be considered "public" if it is "whitelisted"? I would say that it is "public" only insofar that it is not "by invitation only".

The whitelist does tend to keep the trolls away, and we do monitor player activity. You are right, though... once a player is accepted they could turn evil and destroy stuff. But so far that hasn't really happened. In the past year we have only banned one or two players who were caught stealing. It helps that we are running MyTown2 so that players have some grief protection in their base. There has never been any complaints about other players coming in and "stealing my ore veins", for example. In fact, everybody is really friendly and helpful and polite. We have over 200 whitelisted players (granted many tried it a few times and never returned) from over 20 countries. The server often has more than ten players on at a time with probably thirty active players currently. Sometimes it can get rather laggy, and we do out best to monitor and control excessive lag, but long-time players just deal with it.

Is it perfect? No. Could it be ruined by some a**hole someday? Maybe. Is this the best modded Minecraft server on the Internet? Definitely.

I look at a server whitelist like a gym-card... anyone can get one, but you need one to enter the facilities ;)

Where did you place the integrated circuit? It has to be placed in the controller, upper right corner. I cant check now, but are you sure you have the right circuit for the right recepie? There is a recepie with gas and a slower one without.

I just made an excell doc with all the things needed to make a gravichestplate.
The blue columns represent the most raw materials.
(it might have some mistakes... I tried to be carefull, and I revised it... but some mistake might have stayed)
Hope this is usefull :D

i realized that i had the input and output backwards on the multiblock.

one big question what are people using for liquid transfer. i was using steel pipes but they dont seem to be able to keep up. so i switched to ender io pressure fluid pipes. they work for up to 8 steam turbines mv... but anymore and the last one chokes. should i just go for larger fluid pipes from gregtech?

This is one reason why I go for higher energy dense liquids... problems with transportation. I generally tend to use enderIO pipes(after I've entered LV era) since you don't need the covers like GT pipes do for high-speed liquid-transfer.
The only place I use GT pipes is for short distances or when speed of transfer isn't important.... atleast untill after I can make higher tier pipes than steel in good quantities.

This is why I prefer hydrogen or methane conversion, even if I lose total energy in the system by up-conversion I still feel that moving fewer buckets per time-unit usually pays off better for my systems... And it's less of a drain on computer resources.

If you really like steam->eu then I'd suggest making a power-room where you make the EU and transport it out where you need it with higher transformed current... that way it's easier to use separate pipes and as such get more eu/t than having a distributed steam->eu system... but to each his own :)

A lot of people hate this method due to eu lossiness, but its an intended consequence of antiquated steam power generation. My base works exactly like this: I generate my power centrally, and tolerate some eu loss when I send it out.

I mitigate that loss somewhat by always upconverting my power to the highest tier I can.

Let's take the pressurized conduit for example for power transport:
800mb/t in max transport speed.
steam density: 800/2 = 400eu
hydrogen density: 800*10 = 8'000eu
methane density: 800*45 = 36'000eu
^ only three examples because I'm lazy ;)
Anyhow you see how much more total energy you transport with the more energy dense fuels. these values only use the basic fuel values, not the values you use when deciding what tier of power you produce it at(like LV steam having additional losses compared with LV Gas turbines).
So you can either take the loss from centralized power production or the loss from up-converting fuels... at least once you actually can't supply steam fast enough with pressurized conduits to power your industry.

so id like to note i forgot that ender io fluid pipes work with multiple inputs and outputs. i had to increase the size of my tank to 5x5x4 and put 4 outputs on the bottom for it to keep up with my turbines. i mean im already producing a lot of steam. only 4 large bronze steam boilers running on alumentum/creosote oil. i just couldnt figure out why it wasnt being carried fast enough. i mean trying to run 4 EBF and the charocal cooker also running ore processing. (thermal centrifuge is the big one there). kinda ate my steam at first. but only in the turbines not the tank. im not worried about power loss. im making enough for everything at the moment i just needed steam to get to the turbines XD

btw anyone know what i can do with 6 barrels of alumentum? they dont work in the smaller boilers. and i dont need any for thaumcraft right now?

they work in either large GT boilers or the solid railcraft boilers

In vanilla thaumcraft only the infusion altar can interact with essentially mirrors, witching gadgets has a block called the essentially pump which will suck essentially out of jars to put in things that need it
