Sorry about my Tinker's post earlier, I just updated it and it crashes the game with GT installed. It also appears that Mantle, the coremod of Tinker's crashes the game with Optifine installed. Warning for the people who want to install Tinker's to the pack. The modpack may still work for a while after installing Tinker's, though.

EDIT: Never mind. Removing Tinker's didn't do anything. I just updated another mod, so I think I need to update Forge. I don't know how to update Forge in this modpack, can anyone teach me?

I'm not clear on how people play tinkers in this pack. Do they just skip 99% of the tool progression provided? (picks, jackhammers, mining drills etc of various metals)?

With tinkers you can get a hammer which is greater than anything short of a Mining Laser (HV required) and its debatable that the hammer is inferior.

Just curious.

Converting RF to EU? I can't get it to work. EIO conduits won't connect to IC2 or GT transformers, IC2 or GT wires won't connect to EIO blocks or conduits.

I spent a couple hours with this the other night. You used to be able to do it with galacticraft cables, but that's no longer possible.

I also talked to player (of enetbridge) about it, and he insists it should be possible, perhaps via an "energy cell" (not in this pack), but I can't get it to work with, say, a capacitor bank.

You can't as for v2.0.0.... Currently the only way I am aware of is the with the middle step: EU -> PneumaticCraft -> RF (or RF -> PC -> EU).

Dont ask me about efficiency... it will probably not be efficient at all :p

You need to generate at least 15bars of pressure. I used around 1milion EU to even get the thing started to produce something :D

Ok so yeah, it takes buttloads of power to get the system pressurized.

Once its pressurized (which is an investment), 100,000 rf = 4000 eu. (25 rf = 1 eu).

With enetbridge I technically get 333,000 rf from 40,000 eu, or 8.33 rf = 1eu. So, yeah, its a shit ratio. But its configurable fwiw (40% by default)
# Changing this value will alter the pressurized air production of the Flux Compressor. The input, RF, will stay the same.
I:"Flux Compressor (RF --> PneumaticCraft) efficiency"=40

Also, I can't figure out how to pressurize the system faster than it converts to eu. Multiple flux compressors don't seem to pressurize faster than just one. I dont really get air pressure so I can't account for it.

Electrostatic compressors are really powerful compressors, but they need to be struck by lightning to produce the pressure

Sorry for triple post :D You can speed the flux compressor by inserting Speed Upgrade into them (MAX of 10).

I saw that eventually. Surprisingly it didn't seem to decrease efficiency in any appreciable way.

Jason I think its a really neat option for conversion. I'll try to tinker with it more over the next week, but honestly, if this works, I'd be tempted to say rip out enetbridge and force people to do their conversions through pneumaticcraft. Yes there's a large upfront cost, but that simply "powers up" the system. Once you have the system pressurized, all conversions go through at a set rate. I ran a full capacitor bank through (5,000,000 rf) and confirmed that its currently set at 25:1 (rf:eu).

Btw, oddly I was able to get a significantly better return in one test by putting speed upgrades in the eu generator (producing 512 eu/t instead of 32). Needs more testing.

Also did anyone tried how "op" are Advanced Generators from bdew bdew.net/generators/ ?
I've been keeping an eye on this mod. One thing interesting is how configurable it is: you can add your own fluids and their production rates I believe. I didn't suggest it because a) you have enough mods, and b) I don't think we need a "one block produces everything" mod.

I can't find anything on the internet, I'm really sorry, but I need to ask it here. How can I update Forge in this modpack manually?

FTB launcher will not allow it for you in any easy way. You can create a fully separate instance with MultiMC or others. Which i dont recommend because it can break if you dont know how to do it properly

edit: Anyway why to update Forge? What is broken in the forge we are using?

On the public server a number of players want to introduce PVP but there seems to be no PVP tiering systems in the pack . Gregtech adds lots of new swords but most of them aren't as strong as a diamond.

I know one argument is that it takes ages for tier progression that PVP is stupid but I'm not talking about raiding. I'm talking about PVP in a controlled environment to add another feature to the server which would keep players stuff safe from being stolen and the attacking players possibly skipping tech tiers.

Anyone know of greg is implementing anything like this?

I've also been told that steel armour and iron armour have the same 'damage points' which makes no sense as steel is clearly stronger than iron but I haven't checked myself.

Everytime forge updates me (and other people using Caudlron) will have to wait for cauldron to update then it's a pain in the arse to set up. It's a big update for cauldron servers.
