I have a forestry tree farm running on charcoal from the EnderIO alloy furnace, it took a while to get there and get the required materials together but was worth it in the long run.

I played around with one of those GT boiler, the bronze one, and it seemed pretty buggy to me, stopped accepting charcoal after using 1 (out of a stack of 64) yet there were no issues on the maintenance hatch. Also I had the steam going straight into a steam turbine and even though the turbine was full and connected to an empty battery box thingy with empty batteries in they would not charge.

For that reason I started to use railcraft boilers. Maybe I was doing something wrong if they are working for other people?

Where did you put the steam exhaust vent ? It can't be on the bottom layer - it has to be part of the main boiler.
Also, did you duct tape the maintenance hatch ? I believe they may be buggy (still). Duct tape seems the only way to keep it 'maintained'.
Also, what does the controller block say and have you right-clicked it with a rubber hammer ? When you do, does it turn green ?

If none of the above help, provide pics, please.

Very strange! First off, I should mention that I have no idea if these boilers are "worth it". I built one because its cool. Well, that and the extremely quick spinup time is nice. (You're getting steam in a matter of seconds instead of, what, an hour with the 36HP?)

First thing I would check is that you have an "Output Hatch". It sounds like your steam has nowhere to go. Your output hatch can be right-clicked, so you can check if its actually accumulating steam.

If you're super-clever, you'll put your output hatch on the corner of your multiblock so that you can access it from the side. This is useful in case you have your boiler flush against a receiver, or using pipes that don't let you access behind them.

To be honest I can't remember the exact setup I was following a tutorial on YouTube by some guy who didn't speak the best English. I followed it but after awhile it stopped working.
I was using the duck tape and thought that it's a brilliant idea rather than having to use loads of different tools to fix the blasted machine ;)

The controller block did turn green, consume 1 charcoal then went red again. I used a rubber hammer to disable and re-enable, that turned the controller green, consumed one more charcoal, then went red again and did nothing. There was no steam in the output hatch at this point so it wasn't the fact it was full. There was no error messages on the control block either and there was plenty of water in it.

I'll try it again after if I get on tonight hopefully it was a big that has been fixed since.

I will, I'll try and get it done tonight, before I even attempt to make the ebf I could do with more stable power supply.

What power sources are you considering?

Producing 120V from steam is a huge steam draw. We had several solar boilers, lava boilers and charcoal boilers feeding into a big steam buffer. That buffer depleted fairly quickly when the EBF was running.

I'd be curious if you have a better plan; ours was a bit awkward.

We haven't tried the bronze. @Pyure built us a steel one. We were using a combination of solar boilers, charcoal boilers, lava boilers, and a small RC boiler before he built us our Steel GT Steam Boiler.

You may want to try a Bronze vs. Steel one in a test world and see if that works. It's possible the steel works fine, but the bronze is bugged.

@MigukNamja I'll test that first of all then. If bronze is bugged id best increase steel production otherwise it's going to take a lifetime!

@Pyure for now charcoal from my tree farm, it's producing quite a lot of charcoal. I did test an enderIO tree farm but it needs much much more RF than was feasible at the time. Had three enderio coal generators going with the farm operating on a red stone timer every 2 minutes but still wasn't enough. Burnt through all the charcoal when I wasn't watching it :/

I have a lava boiler as well but don't use that anymore even though I have a good supply of lava.

Yeah, Forestry Hard mode causes *all* Forestry power consumers to consume way more power. We use TC chop golems. Not for power reasons, per se, but because we had 2 players doing Thaumcraft and made very rapid progress. Golems were achieved before we had much power.

If you add an eIO capacitor (the transitor-looking item, not the batery block) to the eIO Generator, it will make more power *and* do it more efficiently !

For throttling power, can you build an eIO battery capacitor yet ? Those are very expensive to build early-game (lots of gold !!!), but are great for storing and throttling power.

Never thought about adding a capacitor, as far as I'm aware that's a new feature isn't it?

I might go into a test world and try to set everything up but I'm not the best when it comes to testing and the math of it all!

I love TC but I'm not very good at it. Not tried it since the new version came ou though, now you have that thing you need to click in stuff with to find different aspects. I was just shooting in the dark last time and didn't get anywhere fast!

Anybody else on the dev server doing Thaumcraft ? We've made progress so fast because there have been 3 of us working on the same base/build.

Exactly as Crhymez said :D Just a little clarification: by "whitelist application on the forums" he means not this forum, but the Infinity forum :)

Perhaps a dumb question, but:
How would one obtain a Division Sigil then?

Boss kills (for example Wither boss). Div Sigils are adding really powerfull undestroyable tools, which are craftable really early game. And since those tools are using special code to be crafted (must be in vanilla crafting table), i can't change the recipes for them

I would remove the Healing axe since is fills your hunger when held. it kind of defeats the purpose of having Spice of Life.
