... if everything is going plug in based...
and in the jar is a part of the past.

Is it now theoretically possible to make a plug in that would tweek BTW to make it forge compatable?

Picture it, BTW, Minefantasy, TFC. Then some other plug ins to make them actually work together, with an endgame that lets you eventually break out of the ancient days and into the tech.

That's not exactly how it works. I think lemming or powercrystals would be able to explain it better in a bit more detail. Or any of the forgecraft people, for that matter.

I'm not gonna be excited for 1.6 for at least a couple of months yet. Nothing Mojang adds is exciting tbh, I only ever update to see what the mods have added, not what Mojang has added.

Yep as he said it has been released !! Not too amazing as I would have preferred them adding more sea mobs or something more drastic but this is cool as I don't find traveling by pig toooo effective !

I don't see why 1.6 has been such a big deal... Horses aren't really exciting when you have jetpacks.

I agree, but from a vanilla perspective, horses and especially mules & donkeys, are a radical improvement. Mainly from an inventory perspective. Mods offer assorted backpacks, knapsacks, and chests to help with hauling stuff from a mining trip. With the additional inventory offered by these mobs, there are more storage and transport options.

It also highlights how medieval vanilla really is vs the techno-magic of the modded realm.

I think most of what's even more important is the "under the hood" type stuff. The end user should have a better time using the mods due to performance enhancements. At least that's the idea I've gotten from skimming 1.6 tweets. :)

It's a big deal to FTBers because 1.6 is supposed to house our next non-private "stable" edition

Please come back once forge and all the mods currently located in the FTB packs are fully updated for 1.6 as that would take a few more months to do.

Keep waiting. There are well known, "core" mods that FTB absolutely would not ship without that have already been saying its going to be a month past the point vanilla 1.6 is released.

And I don't mean redpower.

Let's also not forget that while flight is definitely preferable in many situations, horses are still significantly faster than IC2 jetpacks (I'm not sure how they compare to the advanced jetpack). And all you need to do to gain access to them is locate one and tame it (which is fairly simple). So essentially you could gain access to fast travel minutes (or even seconds) into a world, depending on how lucky you get with your spawn.

I don't see how that's something that can be dismissed as an obsolete and redundant feature, even for people that only play modded minecraft.

Well, mcp for 1.6.1 is done according to Searge and cpw tweeted that they are already updating forge and doing bug fixes.
