After a long delay, modpacks for 1.6.4 have finally started to appear on the FTB launcher. Over the last couple of days you will have noticed the addition of the Horizons Modpack, which is a new pack designed to showcase a whole new series of mods. At the time of writing the updated version of the modpack designed to accompany the Direwolf20 Youtube series is showing up on the launcher although the servers are getting hit hard as we expected so please be patient. We are trying to get extra servers up to cope with the demand at the moment.

Over the coming days we will be adding further packs, bringing back new versions of old favorites Magic World 2 and Tech World 2. An all new version of FTB lite is coming, which is designed to bring the modded experience for lower spec computers. (Our goal is to have these work ok on 32bit machines). Moving beyond that we have several other packs in the works including of course an all new feature pack to replace Unleashed. The pack list for this is pretty much sorted and internal testing will begin shortly (We imagine that we will need about 2 weeks of testing for this pack, but hope to have it out for Christmas)

For server admins, you will notice that our packs now all include Opis which is a tool designed to help you profile your servers. This is now going to be a standard inclusion in FTB packs and we intent to extend our support of server profiling in the future. There is plenty more news to come over the coming weeks, so keep an eye on the Forums, the Twitter (@FTB_Team) and the FTB Reddit (www.reddit/r/feedthebeast.com) for the latest information.

Really excited for the upcoming packs!
Also I watched some testers while they're testing those coming packs and it looks nice :D
I also have a question, does the packs getting on the current launcher means the new launcher is not coming or is it still WIP ?

Is there any chance that FTB ultimate will be getting Project : Red anytime soon or anytime haha, Because the new horizon PACK is amazing just wouldn't be able to cope without warded blocks :D but well done guys!

Thanks for all of the updates and the hard work you've been putting in. I've heard quite a bit about Universal Configs; however, I haven't quite gotten my head around it just yet (sorry, bit of a noob). I understand that it will allow players to interchange mods they like between the packs without ID conflict. So if I want "Blood Magic" in DW20 I can pull it from Horizon. Is that as simple as a copy and paste between the two folders? Also, for server admin would I load the one-click install (Loving Creeperhost BTW) of my chosen pack on the server and then upload the mod to the server 'mods' folder and presto no ID conflicts? Sorry if this is the wrong area to drop this question in, but I haven't seen a spot to put it. Thanks!

Can we send requests for 1.6.4 modpacks to be hosted on the FTB Launcher as a private modpack?

Did FTB provide the startup script? That may sound like a stupid question, but I never deal with servers, so I have no idea what FTB provides for them.

It's probably something as simple as it wasn't updated, or that FTB's assuming people only have 2GB spare to use, but if you have more you should increase it.

i tried to set up a dw20 1.6.4 server on mac but it did not work. I did the whole start.command thing which worked but then half way through loading it stopped.

The FTB Launcher is totally awesome. I couldn't get half of the mods in the new Direwolf20 pack to work together with the vanilla launcher. Slowpoke, you and your team have done the Minecraft community a huge service by creating this launcher. Thank you very much. :)

Reaper with all due respect the ftb and mod developers, the scores of people that can't DL, or are having other launcher issues strongly disagree with this statement atm
