I think maybe get other peoples opinion on that one. Because sulphur is RNG it can be a bit of a nuisance

I will have a play around with golems a mo and see if I can get it to work. You are using a clay golem with a fluid core right?

Update: Just tested it with a clay golem moving lava from a crucible into a transposer and it worked fine. You need to place the golem on the inventory you want the fluid keeping in. So Place the golem on the transposer and tell him which crucible you want him to pull out of and he will. Let me know if you have any other problems with them.

Wow...so I messed around with this for a good thirty minutes and I NEVER thought to try attaching the golem to the transposer as opposed to the crucible. I knew it was something stupid I was doing wrong. Thanks so much for your help! :)

Thought I'd weigh in on the Sulphur thing. I received all the sulphur I needed from 3 stacks of coal ore, which I received as a side effect of buying redstone and lead I needed for other things. That being said, I felt awfully lucky to get that much sulphur out of the three stacks of coal ore.

Glad to help :) And Aye thats really lucky! Its only about a 10% chance so on average from 3 stacks you would expect maybe about 20 sulphur +/- a few. But hey RNG is RNG

I'm not sure if I'm being completely obtuse but it seems like the only way to craft obsidian is in the personal crafting 2x2, since the cyclic assemblers just don't seem to like the recipe. I'm currently playing on a server, but I tried the recipe in an assembler in single player and it didn't seem to work there either.

Is obsidian meant to be made in such an awkward way?

This. I am in the same boat, I can't think up another way to get obsidian besides the manual method and since buckets of water/lava don't stack... It would be great if someone can enlighten us.

I played this before it was on the launcher and it wasn't finished yet, more like proof of concept. It's cool to see what all those gates are for. that's a neat game mechanic. NOW I understand what all the hubbub was about the tops of machines. Yeah, that's a bit irritating.

So, I suck at golems. I know quite a bit but even then, I don't think that's alot. What I do know tho is they only carry one item at a time unless you're able to apply those things to them. The things being the things I can't remember now :) The only things I see in the shop are the animation cores, not upgrades. Are we going to be able to buy any of those later on and have them unlocked at a certain point or you have to deal with things as they are?

Considering the spacing between say the pulverizers and the furnaces, a golem running back and forth early game, carrying one dust a piece doesn't even come close to keeping up with the furnace. Early game is supposed to be slow, I understand that. How does this improve tho? So far, I've just been loading/unloading machines on my own for the most part so I don't have to wait so long.

Higher teir golems can carry more at once. I got lucky and got an iron golem as an early reward, which carries 8 at once. Check the thaumonomicon for which golem can carry the most and their respective speeds etc. As for the upgrades you can't buy them yet and I don't know if panda plans for them to be buyable. Most usefull I have found has to be the fire upgrade so far.

Yeah, I tend to not like TC4 very much after the essentia pipe nerfs. The golems, to me, always got stuck in everything, but yeah, this is genius. A pack revolving around those cute little dudes. Without using anything else, yeah, focus is definately on them, so it's interesting to say the least.

I've used all the upgrades before, have used them to guard areas and chop trees down, etc... Some things tho just don't jive with me.

For instance, you get 2 straw golems to start, one fill and one empty. I setup the empty one to grab stuff out of chest attached to pulv and have him fill the furnace with it. I think you can only choose one destination, thus, somewhat limited. The fill tho? I tried using him to take from chest(s) attached to furnaces and put in another chest, chose iron ingots but he did nothing. I don't get why you'd need two cores that don't quite have alot of differences. I used them before to fill up crucible I think (it's been a while) and I can have all of these reversed right now. Plus, their billygoating over the HQM gates was getting annoying....

If there were actual intelligence put into the little guys, they'd be so damn usefull. I guess I'll play around with them.

One thing I wish this mod had is to see how many quicksilver you have instead of manually counting them up. I think maybe we could put together something using ingameinfoxml. Dunno if that could be done, but that would be quite handy.

Your thinking of the Animation cores. The upgrades are the ones made from shards that increase filtering abilites, carry amount, speed etc.

For a fill golem you most put him ON the inventory you want him to fill and tell him which inventories to pull out off.

Tip for quick silver, put it in a storngbox, pick up the box and press shift over it in ya inventory and it will say X - quicksilver

yeah, I probably have stuff backwards... Again, frustration level isn't high. I just couldn't get over the speed issue. Are there anyone making LP's or anything? I thought magz did one, so maybe I'll look that up.

At one point I had more quicksilver to fit in one strongbox so I still have to math or need to upgrade those strongboxes which I guess is my next step. I'll play some more cause it is interesting.

I love how hardly anyone just did a cookie cutter agskies wannabe for the jampacked. Very cool. All these brains focusing their talent in this direction that I get to benefit from so happily. :}

Thanks for the info. I appreciate it.

Yes, I have asked before, but this is a major pain for me. What is the "expected" way of producing obsidian? I am able to do so only manually. I am getting very tempted to just forgo the no machine rule and make myself an extruder.

The expected way to make obsidian is to use a cyclic assembler. I was hoping you would have realized that you have machines that can do autocrafting for you. Everything is automatable, you've just got to figure out how.

Does anyone have a server for this?

Unfortunately, no. considering the fact that I made this map as a rebellion to the SMP 'no lag' attitude, I'd be impressed if anyone could pull off making a public server out of this.

The problem is that I can't get the cyclic assembler to make obsidian. Neither it nor the workbench recognize the water + lava + pick as a valid recipe as far as I've tried, so you can't set up the schematic. Is there some other way to do obsidian with the assembler that doesn't use that recipe?

I've seen people manage to set up a local multiplayer- see GoC's video.

Anyways, I've been a bit busy during the last week or so, so I'm only just getting round to testing things on the map. Hopefully there should be an update soon.

I have submitted an update, as it turns out you can't automate crafting obsidian. I apologize for any snark I may have given, so I have added an igneous extruder to the map. Unless you are a wizard at crawling configs, it's likely you'll have to start over.

Another thing added is that you can now get sulfur as a quest reward! Hooray!

Hey Just FYI. the 1.0.8 map you left yourself on creative. rofl. Thought you would want to know.

Note: You also left the OP book in.

Note 2: I assume we are not supposed to start with a diamond pickaxe and a bucket each of water and lava so i deleted them. hehe
