    Infinite Charcoal power?

Mod abuse! Someone call the nerfpolice! I kid, I kid. Although that does bring back fond memories of Soul Shards. Man, that was one fun, and OP, mod. You know, I'm actually trying to get away from teleporting items in my Gregtech series. Railcraft is so underused because of item teleportation...

    Infinite Charcoal power?

Fair enough, although my main question is how much you end up wasting in the way of resources for those enderchests. Though, I guess it really depends on what your main concern is.

    Infinite Charcoal power?

Have you found any real advantage for distributed power vs. centralized production? I'd always figured that getting that up and running properly was a pain in the neck unless you have AE, LogiPipes, or some other intelligent "item network" system. I guess you could also do it with EnderIO...

What would an ideal server look like?

Definitely. I'm still in VERY early beta on the pack (I'm currently fighting WW3 against some sort of a bug with Railcraft creosote oil not being recognized by buckets, boilers, or machines), but once it's public, I'll definitely let people know.

    Infinite Charcoal power?

That's going to be an epic amount of charcoal or wood that you'd need to generate. I forget the numbers, but I ended up deciding that it's infinitely easier to turn the charcoal into Alumentum, rather than chucking the wood in directly. HP boilers are hungry, and even moreso if they're running...

    Infinite Charcoal power?

Fair. My main issue would be that I want players to have to go through the process of getting a GT power plant set up before jumping straight in. Mostly because those things generate an obscene amount of power.

Best Way To Power A Quarry?

I've found that a lot of the reactorcraft machines require thinking on a much bigger scale than most of us are used to. Supplying a high pressure turbine with lubricant is a monumental pain in the rear end, for example. I'd love to see Reika add an advanced, synthetic, lubricant that doesn't get...

    Infinite Charcoal power?

I'm a fan of the mechanics of advanced generators, but the recipes are a little bit too cheap for me. If I was including it in my pack, I'd want to go to town with Minetweaker to integrate and progression gate it with Gregtech and RotaryCraft before including it. I love the concept though.

    Infinite Charcoal power?

The funny part is that I first ran into it in an instance where I had Gregtech, and a really out of date version of BC. For about half an hour I was convinced that BC had somehow been Greg'd. Nope. Just turns out he made lava buckets hurt you when you carry them.

Best Way To Power A Quarry?

This leads me to want to go find out how many laser drills you can power off of a fusion plant. I have a dream about building one of those on SSP at some point. Also, I think bees can do it, but I don't get into bees unless I'm using Gendustry, and that requires a crap load of power.

    Infinite Charcoal power?

Ya, there was (I think) one version where it wouldn't work. If you poke around on YouTube you can find a bunch of early videos with some very confused Youtubers going "Wait, when did that stop working?!"

What would an ideal server look like?

Personally, I want to see economy. I've been toying with the idea of a server running Gregtech, no item or fluid teleport, and capped world size. I imagine that it would force players to trade, and cooperate, especially for high tier builds (like a server shared fusion plant), and would force...

    Infinite Charcoal power?

I was doing that when BC had just switched to RF and Redstone engines weren't working with pumps.

Best Way To Power A Quarry?

At that point it's probably easier to just use MFR laser drills.

    Infinite Charcoal power?

That's with survivalist generators? I only generally use those for very early power and maybe powering low demand devices, like BC pumps.

Best Way To Power A Quarry?

Generally, I'm a huge fan of Railcraft, but moving boiler setups is a remarkable pain. If you don't mind burning lots of resources, you could use EnderIO photovoltaic cells, but those are space intensive and pricey. Generally, I don't build a quarry until after I have a fairly robust base power...

    Infinite Charcoal power?

You could also take a look at hobbyist steam engines from Railcraft. I haven't used them recently, but they used to be super efficient. I'm a bit biased, because the steam system is one of my favorite cross mod compatability changes ever. You can go from steam to RF, EU, GTEU, and Shaft Power...

Don't lie, we all know you have a startup routine.

I'm working on a GT pack right now, I think I'd have gone absolutely nuts if I didn't have Fastcraft installed. Usually I hit start in MMC and then wander outside to have a smoke, and get my recording environment set up. By the time I'm done, it's (usually) ready to go. Generally, my start...

    Infinite Charcoal power?

Personally, I'd go with EnderIO Sterling Generators, they're fairly smart, and the EnderIO Power Monitor allows you some fairly fine tuned control over when the generators kick on so you don't waste power. Depending on the mod list you are using, my preferred wood -> power chain usually runs...
