Make a backup of the world (important) afterwards press forceupdate in the launcher (atleast i presume your just opening your client to LAN so it acts as LAN server)?

Make sure your client has the same modpack version as the server. (in the launcher there is a V where you can select the version you want to play)

Try it with a cable connected

Is the server a ownhosted server? Cause your prob connecting to your internal IP instead of your external IP. So it could je be the portforward that failes. Are there other people that can connect to the server?

On my own modded server (DW20v5) with me and 3 friends i'm using atm 3GB, and find that to be running best. You are using the serverdownload from the website i presume? Just edit either your start server.bat or the start server.sh and change the -xmx value to 1G or 2G or 3G what ever you want to max allocate.

uhmmmm i never heard of this and never had this myself in all the servers i have upgraded the last year. Normally if you make a backup you should backup your whole serverworldfolder. That should backup all. Do keep in mind that a full backup can only be done when the server is either readonly or...

Did you download the server from the website or the launcher? Could you upload the server.log file to pastebin and link it here? I do know i had a problem with my normalmap on the insanity serversoftware with the compagnoncube but fixed that with a lever when my users had the stuff to make it.

Copy and paste your SSP world to your server, change the server.properties to match the foldername from your SSP

You can Disable TF, or delete the agedata.27 from your datafolder in your world folder.
