    Applied Energistics and Boilers

Once again machines prove to be more intelligent than us puny humans.
  2. Q

    Dumb Modular Powersuit Tricks

    That's horribly... apt.

    Base Design Paradigm

After restarting in a new world, I have begun to think about how I would like my base this time. The main issue I've had with my past bases has been the lack of foresight about how I would want things later. For example, I've never planned for automation, scalability or storage and this always...

    Will this run okay?

Windows 8 is alright if you hack mod the start menu back in.

    Updation of Gregtech

Ultimate 1.02 already has Gregtech 2.90h. It's "testing" at the moment, but you can download it regardless. I don't know about Mindcrack though.

Unique Energy, Your Set-Ups and Plans.

I think I'm pretty unique that I hate renewable power and run everything on fuel. If and when I run out of oil, I find some more. I have about 20 refineries running.

Recipes changes from refined iron to steel !

Eh, like a week ago I started my first ultimate world. First time playing with Gregtech as well. I hated it because of the steel changes. But now I love it, because I still have so much to do because of all the new steps I need to take to build even the simplest of machines. Diamonds for...

Kinglemming, you asked for suggestions at pax

I'd like to be able to melt metals for storage. Liquid iron. Oh oh. Fill up a few tanks with them and cast them back into ingots with another machine. Maybe even have a small energy cost for the tanks to keep the metals hot. Obviously this wouldn't really work in real life :P

    Equivalent Exchange has to go.

EE3 is very convenient in 3 important ways for me: 1-Dyes: No, I don't really want to go around searching for deserts so I can make pipe waterproof. That's just a huge waste of time. 2-Obsidian from wood: Yeah well, the problem with obsidian is mining it is so slow. I mean, it is not a...

    Teleporters, for sure.

Feed The Beast - Redpower and 1.5.x

Cheers and thanks for the update.

Gregtech Industrial Grinders vs. Upgraded Rotay Macerator

I use overclocked rotary macerators simply because by the time I need the processing speed of multitudes of those things I don't really care about the extras. But yeah, if you want/need the extras the gregtech grinder is simply better.

    Music to Mine By

    Why not some smooth jazz?
  14. Q

    Applied Energistics priority

The problem with big AE networks isn't the complexity, it's quartz. I agree that 18 is quite crazy just for that purpose. I find that quartz is quite literally rarer and thus more valuable than Iridium, especially when you're trying to build up an extensive AE network. Which is sort of funny...
  15. Q

I need help with using power sources!!

What we really want to know is "Do you have Gregtech and is it on hard?" because that'll be important to figure out what is the easier path. Starting with Thermal Expansion machines is always a good bet though, they are very well value for materials.
  16. Q

So... Why are the Voxel mods in FTB anyway?

I like Rei's Map more, but if the IPs are showing then I understand. It's always possible to disable them and go back to the one I like when I'm playing alone anyway.
  17. Q

What are the track supports that etho used?

I'm pretty sure the ones at 17:55 are not wooden.
  18. Q

Can you automate a quartz grindstone?

    / sarcasm Yeah, it's called a Macerator.
  19. Q

Can I take GregTech out of FTB ultimate?

I'm thinking of going Ultimate with hard Gregtech next time I make a new world, I think I'm mentally ready for what it will bring :P
  20. Q

What do you use to collect resources?

Isn't basalt only found in volcanoes? I had no idea you could manually create some. If you're commenting on the Silk Touch part, I find getting a silk touch pick is easier than smelting tons of basalt cobblestone manually.
