Isn't that only because the not-correct barrels aren't considered valid inventories? Sounds normal to me.

Depends on which pack you're using. In Mindcrack, there isn't one. Each ore has its own set of layers it tends to spawn in.

Barrels input from the top, and they can only contain a single variety of block or item.

2x2 square of Coal makes Traincraft Coal Dust. Alternatively use the Forge Lexicon to convert Railcraft or GregTech Steel to Traincraft Steel.

Mazestone is specifically weak to explosions, to accommodate all the maze booby-traps.

That tells me you're using the wrong mod pack if you aren't on 1.4.6 and they are. Remember, the launcher has multiple mod packs. Make sure you use the same one as the server you're wanting to join.

Popcorn was either 2 or 3 food units, I forget which, and a speed boost of I'm wanting to say 5 seconds. no idea on the saturation. I'm pretty sure Cob of Corn (the cooked one) was six food units, but I could be off by one.

I don't know what the saturation is for the nuggets, but they seem to be 2 food units each (1 drumstick) and have the special effect of being eaten nearly instantly, which means minimal slowdown during emergencies.

I've been wondering about some of these foods for a long time. The lack of food documentation is annoying... Thanks!

Power? Redstone Energy Cells. Charge them up elsewhere, then use them for the quarries once they're full so you don't have to fuss about with power management. Not sure what MJ/t quarries need for max speed now though.
