Try making an iron golem, if you have the iron. Pretty sure ones you make will protect the village if you make it in the village

There is a biome detector tool in vanilla. It's known by the name of F3. Just look in the debug screen until it says Extreme Hills. Although it should be easy enough to find them if you wander around a while.

Beast slayer is from my favorite mod, plugins for forestry. It is mostly for the butcher knife, but I believe it has extra damage or extra food drops regardless of weapon.

You could try an autocrafting table, since crafting tools together combines their durability. Have not tested this personally though. EDIT: Half ninja'd. Autocrafting tables would do the same thing as the post above me said, only you can automate it :P

Easiest way to cover a quarry with water is to put one bucket in the corner. It will cover the entire thing as the quarry digs deeper. When you're done, get rid of the single source block and all the rest follows. Easy to cleanup, minimal lag.

The liquid is indeed IC2 coolant, and I THINK you can get it from the liquid transposer. Its only purpose is cooling engines. Crushed ice CAN be used as a coolant in engines as well.

I have to agree with this. It's mainly Gregtech that irritates me with this, probably because its not widespread in other mods yet. I didn't mind it when it was just the coke oven and the blast furnace and whatnot, but when EVERY SINGLE high tier machine is a massive ugly 3x3x3 cube of blank...

Thanks to Thermal Expansion's awesome side configurations, the milk buckets go in through the bottom, empty themselves, then they are autoejected to the top. My deployer setup is a bit funky, mostly because I built this out of sheer curiosity and did not refine it, but the deployer is on top...

Looks like it has a socket for the new circuit boards in the middle. Very cool.
