IIRC mobs will not spawn on microblocks, transparent blocks, and as said above Xycraft blocks and bottom slabs. Now that I think about it, I'm guessing mobs only spawn on blocks they're coded to spawn on, so unless mods change that code, they probably only spawn on those vanilla blocks they're...

Well that explains why I can't find it in my Magic World world. Good to know, had no idea. Not that dying in your base is a big deal, but one of the perks of those things is you can take it mining with you. Now I'll be sure never to use one near a lava pool. :eek:

You can use NEI to give yourself stacks of spawners.

No, it happens in survival too IIRC. Now the wisp spawner might have a different code or something, as it's added by a mod, I'll have to let someone who knows answer that.

Well, yea that's what happens. You can either edit the spawner after you place it with a 3rd party app(most of which don't work well with FTB in my experience), or just NEI yourself the wanted spawner. The torch trick is really only useful for infinite porkchops or snagging the ender dragon egg.

Not to mention GenerikB is a funny guy and entertaining to watch. Even better when Bdubs is around, those 2 just keep me laughing all day.

It'd be cool for Forestry or extrabees to add these in the form of an addon to frames to make expansion easier. They would need to be expensive and require some resource only obtainable from a mid to late tier bee, but it beats exploring for days and days to gather a bunch of raw bee stock.
