I mean, the tooltip explicitly says it produces twice as many mBs of steam per tick, and it costs IRON instead of STEEL which is strictly cheaper since STEEL is nothing but IRON plus COAL or HEAT from any other source. Is there any hidden information I am not seeing?

You can always move the machines out of range of the nexus and leave only the mana battery available to even take essence in the first place. Moving is a pain, but apparently so is randomly charging machines.

Well, this just serves to prove how clueless I am. I remember trying to automate lubricant fabrication in the past only to find itemducts and rotarycraft machines didn't want to work together despite connecting perfectly fine, but that was many versions ago in horizons.

With Pam's harvestcraft, you can plant the crop directly without first turning it into a seed. Also, picking is terrible, always break it, you get more and it grows back just as fast.
