@thephoenixlodge - FYI, you can use the botania equal trade wand to get any level ore from the nether. Was playing around with it bound to my cobblestone wand and accidentally clicked on cobalt. It also does not aggro pigmen when you do it (i also have not gotten to cobalt level mining yet...

Just got to this part myself. Seems in v91 it is looking for the wrong book. I just used the op'd book to complete the quest and move on. Tried everything i could think of to get it to register.

You need to make sure you make the right one. I haven't gotten this far in v9, but in previous versions you had to make sure you made the right one (the color matches up in NEI).

I use Fir trees for logs/saplings. Sometimes i get very unlucky with RNG mutandis. I will usually stick with Oak or Oak like trees so i can also get apples until i get Fir.

There are multiple ways in the pack to change the biomes. Witchery and Thaumcraft come to mind, pretty sure there is one other way also.

Some people forget to do the books chapter. Also, just because you finished a quest, does not mean you get the reputation until you claim the rewards. (phoenixlodge has stated this in previous comments)

I had this happen once or twice. I think i renamed the folder and got it to show up again.

I usually just go get oysters and setup a oyster farm. Easiest way to get ender pearls early game. Most of the time i don't even bother to kill an enderman anymore to complete the quest. Usually end up killing one by mistake once i am in terrasteel armor.

I don't use crates for my setup. I use dispensers, easier to use and wire. The signal coming in from the the right is where my buttons are. Repeater is merely increasing the signal strength.

TPL has stated previously, there are more then just completing quests. You have to hold certain items to unlock things. Can't really help you there, but if you search previous posts you should be able to get them.

It sounds like you attempted to load up a .7.x world in .8.x. You would have to delete your hqm data before loading up the old world in .8. Then you can fix your quests.
