The snow from snowbells was a change from agricraft versions not regrowth (i could be wrong). If you need snow early on, just use your pure daisy, you get it about the same time and you do not need snow before then anyways.

It looks like you got everything correct. You just have had really bad RNG luck. I have gotten cross breeds on the first try, and times it has taken over 20 cross breeds before i got what i needed.

This is a known bug, and reported many times. Currently the only way to advance is to give yourself an OP book and finish the quest.

Baubles gets funky sometimes. I loose all of my worn baubles when regrowth crashes sometimes. Sometime ago i remember other people reporting a bug where they lose one ring and get bands of mana in return. Do not remember their being any resolution to it.

This bug has been reported numerous times since .9 came out. It is a problem with the current version, you need to give yourself the OP book and complete the quest.
