Well thats all fine and good except (im guessing) you had to start a new world
Well I still have a major decision. When the time comes would I ditch whatever mods didnt update for the new stuff, or not. Neither of those sound like good choices
Well fair enough. I sorta didn't really think about it much because i have seen so many of these kinda threads pop up. And I don't know if you can tell but all of this RP talk has been stressing me out a bit :P
For the most part I get what you are saying. But there is still one MAJOR reason why redpower should not be dropped, despite all the problems its caused it is just simply an amazing mod. It is my favorite mod by far. You can't deny that the functionality it adds is worth getting rid of because...
Misterfiber told me directly before that it will most likely break my world. From my understanding it will be a world option, so I will have to set it in NBTedit most likely, if the biome IDs are the same then It might not break it.
Yeah, I really doubt that eloraam would completely abandon her mod, and not tell anyone about it. Hopefully if she does someone else will take over. I will probably follow whatever direwolf does though because he is actually in contact with the modders and knows whats going on
I'm just gonna try to enjoy 1.4.7 direwolf20 pack for a little while longer and see what happens. I will probably also do some vanilla/mo creatures stuff for a little bit
the vanilla PC minecraft community seems like a bunch of (for the most part) creative, awesome, and smart people. The modded MC community is a lot different...
not for the 1.5 update however there is a rewrite happening, they just are updating the current version till it is ready.
Almost all the people here brought up alternate methods for farming. Which is just avoiding the problem. We still don't have solutions for many other uses of the deployer/block breaker. Well besides the obvious solution of you know, keeping redpower
I do have a lot of fun building stuff with my friends but I am always worried about what happens if redpower doesn't update and/or FTB updates without it. Or is MFFS gonna be included in future packs? and what version. Is the Extra biomes rewrite gonna break my world. I would be happy just...
When FTB (and more specifically the direwolf20 modpack) was released I was really excited. I was excited for a legal modpack that would be supported by the modders, updated automatically, and have a community that doesn't constantly create drama, and to not have to worry about my world breaking...
I dont even consider myself a creative person but I haven't gotten bored with vanilla, I just mostly play FTB because I like it better. The people who get bored of vanilla (and eventually modded) are the type of people who shouldnt play sandbox games
A lot of people (especially the ones here) arent going to like this. But a creative person will never (or at least not for a very long time) get bored of vanilla. Look at Etho
not true at all. Frames, computers, tubes, wires, microblocks, sickles, rubies/sapphires/greensapphires, bluetricity, awesome machines, and you think marble and volcanoes are the best?
To me it is worth waiting for RP for a couple months, Redpower is the main reason I play FTB and I don't think I would enjoy FTB without it, and I wouldn't want my world to break. That said if someone does make a good open source replacement (Like Briman promised) then I would definitily go...
