What cool little thing have you discovered today?

Highly tempted to try playing with vi controls now (hjkl).

[SOLVED] MineTweaker 3 - Can I make a item used in crafting not get used?

It's possible if the author wants to make it so. It's a minor addition to the code on top of what he's already got.

any reason why the launcher requires internet to launch a pack now?

I just recently peeked at my FTB launcher saved profile and saw this little dingus: Might be what you're looking for?

    My own modpack bugs (1.7.2)

Are you trying to run a 1.7.10 mod in Minecraft 1.7.2 or is ChickenBones' downloader grabbing the wrong CodeChickenLib? The constructor for the ScaledResolution class changed signatures between 1.7.2 and 1.7.10. For reference, according to ChickenBones' download page, you should have...

    XU pipes, quick question

I don't understand. I just gave you a way to do what you asked for, and your response is that you'll use another transport method?

Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

It depends on what kind of software you are. Most installers offer a choice of installing "for all users" or "just for me", which determines whether they go in the system-wide location (Program Files) or in userland. Some try to be clever and figure out if you even have the ability to escalate...

[SOLVED] MineTweaker 3 - Can I make a item used in crafting not get used?

Technically, Tabula Rasa could do it if it wanted to -- if I understand correctly what I just googled up, it just needs for the item to declare itself as being its own container item (compare: "bucket of milk" has the container item "empty bucket"). @King Lemming?

    XU pipes, quick question

You can whack them (right-click) with a wrench to make them only output in one direction. If there are two XU pipes next to one another and neither can output to the other, they won't connect. This is slightly more tedious than using microblocks, and forces the pipes to be usable in a single...

Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

I admit I didn't try it until just now, so I didn't have the exact wording. It looks like this: So it doesn't say dangerous, it just says it "can cause problems". Incidentally, I didn't clip off any of the dialog box, it really does say "a new location such as Click OK to continue"...

Ask a simple question, get a simple answer

Honestly, that bugs me a lot, because it's literally *the right place* to install something user-specific, as far as Microsoft is concerned. It's very similar to /home/someone on Linux in that the space there is partitioned specifically for the use of the person whose Windows account that is --...

Can one edit their FTB Server save files using MCEdit or something similar?

When you open the level.dat, MCEdit understands to open the region folder associated with it. When you save, MCEdit writes everything associated with the level.dat you opened, including the regions. In fact, MCEdit's primary reason for existing is to give you a way to visually edit what's in the...

    Sotrage/Sorting

True, but they also have a relatively slow rate of extraction and a pulse former to make a 1-tick signal isn't too bad to make.

    Sotrage/Sorting

I wasn't going to comment, since this is beyond my level of silliness, but: You can set the stack size on an item duct with a pneumatic servo on it. I know it goes down to 1, I've never checked if it goes above 64 (though it wouldn't be terribly useful even if it did).

GasCraft - need help with lag

I think the gas works in a compression dynamo, which is effectively equivalent to adding water for an extra 20 RF/t, all else being equal. Might not burn for as long, though. And yes, my experience with EToolbox has been that it's a really neat idea, but the execution falls flat on its face in...

RF Void -- consume infinite RF!

Of course it is. There's a bunch of data scattered around, but this is a decent starting point, I think. Although I've thought about it further since the last time I was working on it, and I have a few extensions in mind (like multi-block teleporter pads).

RF Void -- consume infinite RF!

Y'know, if a little thing like this is getting this much attention, maybe I should start working on BeamMeUp again... I'm sure it'd be fun to play with, and far more useful than RF Void.

    Recent Events Discussion (RED) Thread

I honestly can't stand the ignore function on here. It doesn't even hint that there might be something hidden, and even strips quotes from replies, so if someone replies to someone you're ignoring, it looks like they're talking to the thread in general... which is just confusing, at best. On...

    Importing to ME

Yeah, for the MFR farms, I really do go with the smaller, single-purpose ones over the larger multi-farms. It ends up a little more expensive in terms of machines, but it's much more finely tunable. Golem farms would be an issue, yes; maybe RoC fans would be better, as you could level-emit to a...

    Thaumcraft 4.2 Teaser Video Discussion

Agreed. This would just be my personal preference. To be honest, I'm not sure why it bothers me given that I've barely touched TC in the last couple of months.

    Importing to ME

Oh, farming. What I do with that is set a level emitter to automatically shut off the harvester whenever I'm over some-largish-number of whatever the farm is producing. Honestly, when am I going to need to have more than five stacks of raw rubber at the same time?
